There was a Times-Dispatch story within the last couple of weeks by JOC about the Spiders program. The question to Coach Mooney was would we hire one?
IIRC Mooney said we use an external resource in certain situations. I don’t believe he was specific with the type, but he still feels the UR staff is better suited to make decisions in most things.
Mooney left open the question of hiring a GM in the future if a greater need arose.

Basically there was a struggle between the AD and the Coach on where and how the money should
be spent for NIL and other expenses incurred by Willard’s arrogance and Evans displeasure with
Willard’s demands. The person, or person’s handling the money ended up being let go. It was just
more of an example of how the NIL money has become the demise of programs.
(Please don’t say Mooney already has-that’s not the point of this article)
