Way too early preseason predictions

It's just between us and jmu in the CAA this year in my opinion and I love it that way. If this coaching change goes smoothly I could see us having a season like jmu just did.

i am proud of our new coaching staff , i think we will come out of this better than before, coach rocco did a great job on the feild , but he didnt handle his exit very well, i am sure there were some problems , but to burn down the house on your way out, is hard to take, then to go to another caa team, made it personal , now i have two teams to root against madison and delaware

While I will find few, if any, more rewarding experiences than beating Delaware next year and beating JMU is always a pleasure, I count W&M to be our major rival. Since we left for the A10 in other sports, it seems that the intensity of that rivalry has softened a bit. However, I consider a win over the Tribe with higher regard than a win over any of our other opponents.

i have alot of respect for william and mary i have liked talking football with there fans before the game they are proud of there team , jmu fans for the most part arrogant but thats what makes a rivalry, i see a post on the delaware board that said all of our 250 fans will be showing up when we play them lol . i must admit during games i get a little too excited but in the its just a game , but beating some teams , or losing to those teams effect my whole week , but like i said thats a rivalry.

This.

It was probably my favorite thing about Danny Rocco's tenure here - he always beat William & Mary. Then, he blew it.

once it was clear he had a problem with DB and he did not start working on a true replacement, it was on DR

Agreed it was on DR. I said it before but DR was looking to be mad and he found a way.

JMU fans are the most obnoxious of our competitors, IMO. But this year, I can't wait to beat UD!

I consider jmu to be our biggest rival. At least since I have been watching football it has been because both us and jmu have been true contenders in the conference and the nation just about every year. The Indians have maybe had 3 good years in that same span and we have beaten them every year they have been good. Obviously UD will now be a rivalry because of what has happened and I'm finally starting to believe some of you that Rocco spurned us and that he was to blame.

Right now it's us and jmu on a whole different level than the rest of the league. A large reason for that is QB play. If you look at the rest of the league there aren't many good QB's. In the past when the CAA was at its best every solid team had a great one behind center. At one time there was flacco at UD, Ward at UR, jmu had a good one and so did umass, Nova and UNH. Now I think the league is much more of a running back league and we're lucky because we have an outsanding QB and a loaded backfield.
