Grad transfers/transfers out could change the equation and I guess there's an outside chance Bembry goes pro, but I think we have a pretty good sense of the teams next year.

I've listed impacted players for ease of reference, but I think after this year its pretty clear that having three great players only gets you so far if you don't have a strong supporting cast/game plan/coach.

1. Dayton – lose Pierre; return everybody else

2. URI – get back Mathews; return Martin, Iverson, etc.

3. VCU – lose Johnson, Bilbury; return Cox, Lewis, Tillman, etc., add 4 star

4. Davidson – lose Sullivan; return Gibbs, Aldrigde, etc.

5. SJU – lose Miles; return Bembry, etc.

6. UR – lose Allen; return Cline, Jones

7. GW – lose Garino, McDonald, Larsen; return Cavanaugh

8. SBU – lose Posley, Wright; return Adams, Gregg, etc.

9. LaSalle – return Price, add 3 P5 transfers

10. Fordham – lose Rheems, Thomas; return Chartouney

11. SLU – return everybody

12. UMass – lose Davis, Hinds; add 2 4 star

13. GMU – lose Thompson; return Livingston

14. Duq. – lose Colter, Mason

Looks like GW, SBU, VDU, DUQ lose the most talent. UR, GMU, & UMASS will have important losses also. I don't see the A-10 as a whole getting any better next year. Hard to compete with UMASS, VDU & URI on the partial qualifying 4 stars, since admission to those schools only requires a pulse. Go St. Joe & Go SOONERS!!!

Unless we get some more interior depth that is ready to play next winter, I have a hard time seeing us as high as 6th. If we do, I could see us a couple spots higher than 6th.

Lasalle based on their three transfers? They were a very poor team this year, those guys will have to bring immediate impact for them to rise that high.

I would wait for the coaching carousel and transfer game to end before trying to rank the teams.

I think Dayton, Rhody and Lasalle will be the top 3 preseason in some order.
Definitely agree with first two, I am thinking a 4 way battle for 3rd. I will let you know after our first home game where we will end up.

Yes, that's the opinion of a bunch of college basketball writers whose opinions I have read recently. I don't know enough about those transfers, but apparently they are all supposed to be very good.

With our current roster construction and not knowing how good our freshmen will be, expect us to be picked in the lower half of the league.

I would imagine we are going to be picked in the lower half of the league. We lost an all A-10 player and 2 other starters (yes, addition by subtraction with those 2) but they started because we didn't have anything better to start in their place.

We return 3 really good players, but beyond that our roster is a complete crapshoot. Questions we don't know the answer to:

1. How good are the freshman?
2. What do we do with our 2 open scholarships? Do we fill them both, does we get a grad transfer with one, who might have an immediate roster impact?
3. Do we lose anyone to ourselves to transfer?

Rankings we be close to A-10 tourney seedings.Fordham will be ranked higher than UR.Louie and Mason will be improved too.Long season.

I would have us in the bottom third not because I necessarily think we will be there but because analysts will oversimplify our makeup. They will see 3 starters leaving (accurate but probably actually helpful in two cases) plus limited bench minutes except Khwan and presume Rightfully that we have big question marks.

Fordham and Mason have good coaches now going into year 2, will be improved. SLU finally dumped Crews, they will be improved. What is making us better? We finished 9th in the league last year.

Thank goodness for Derek Kellog and the mighty Dukes of Pittsburgh

One could argue that any player on our bench will be an offensive upgrade over Trey or Deion. Not a knock on those guys but that should make us better assuming defense is equivalent of better from subs. Big assumption.

I think we were picked 6th last year, if we're picked higher than 8th I'll be surprised. Hopefully we'll get Wesson and one big transfer that can give us minutes next year, if we do we'll beat that prediction

No knock at all. Just being honest. I feel the same way about their defense this past year.

Zero depth, and too much reliance on 3 freshman coming in like gangbusters. Lower half of the league. That, and coupled with Mooney's hand at the tiller of the freshmen development means disaster.
