Not surprising. Hey, plenty of posters came on this board for first time just to go after CM and his staff during this season. Losing can bring out the worst in some fans.

Yes. They had to lock down a thread, because it got very personal. Their fans, like our fans, need to know that these coaches are human, young, and need our support.
They are seeing what happens when at critical point in year you lose leadership. Ced was our leader and Weber was theirs. Both teams have
followed a similar path and both can relate. Davidson can be scary good and need to remember they took UVA to the wire and my mind will be the team to beat.

coaches make great money, get a ton of pub, pats on the back and love, when they are doing well and when there is a flat on the left front or when there is a tear in the radiator hose, they get called out and lambasted. part of the job and of course with all the fans having various venues in which to show their displeasure, can get ugly. typically not the entire fan base but certainly the loudest, can have their way and it gets ugly and sometimes personal. would bet that most coaches don't even look at any of this stuff, they know when things are not going right and am sure they are spending time trying to fix things or alter things, not reading message boards. as a fan, fun to watch other boards implode and go completely nuts but not my own.
VCU was simply outplayed & out-coached last night by a prolific veteran coach who knows the game and knows it is a TEAM sport. All of those assists-to-points? They ran a clinic last night.
VCU has had a player leadership question all season...remember that was big talk when Weber was out for the "misdemeanor."
It was clear last night that Treveon Graham is not a leader; could not buck up his team when they needed him most. Hard to distinguish any of them as leaders because they play that run-and-gun offense where it's all about "I'm going to score on this fast-break." Commentators took note and obviously one method was the proper formula.
I think Smart is a good coach even though I do not agree with his style of play nor his method of recruiting, but hey, apples & oranges.

Its amazing how different they are without Weber - he was the engine that ran the system that i refuse to name. He was going to be gone next year anyway, so we're seeing a glimpse of them coming back to earth a bit early. Weber and Graham are both gone next year, no way they are any better next year, even with 475 top 100 recruits (most of which can't shoot).

Bingo, They are a rudderless ship out there. They huck and chuck when they get down and lord knows how many defensive breakdowns resulting in easy Davidson lay-ups there were last night.
Mo, said they are leaking oil, I think they might be out of oil on the verge of overheating and catching on fire along side the highway. And no one packed a fire extinguisher. Burn baby burn.
