As of tonight (Wed.), the weatherman is calling for 4" of snow Friday night and Saturday morning. If Mr. Hardt is going to postpone this one, I hope he does it before Saturday at noon. I had rather not risk falling at my age if the game is played during a snowstorm. Here's hoping that everyone will stay safe no matter what happens this weekend.

Be sure to rush to the grocery store for milk and bread.

Yeah games have been played with much more snow than that. If the players and the officiating crew are there then the show will go on.
Anyone remember the Temple game maybe 12 years ago that was played in a snowstorm? I think that was also the same game that we shut them out for like the first 12 minutes of the game or something absurd like that, but we only scored 8 or 9 points ourselves. I think we ended up winning though.
VCU is curb stomping Davidson at the moment. Let's see what adjustments Bob makes to get back in the game. Good defense by the Rams.
Thought Davidson was going to pull it out, but that Brajkovic offensive foul just can’t happen. Yes, Vince sold it, but when you extend your arm like Luka did, they’re going to call you.

Haha! I thought he was predicting the score for the game which this thread was created for. My mistake.
Always pull for the Spiders even if the game is VCU vs. Davidson.
Unabashed self promoting - remember that game well as my first grandson won the baby crawling contest and $250 gift certificate to Ukrops that made his first birthday party sweet! He will be 13 in a few weeks. Temple was ranked something like 17 or 18 and we won.

I was there. It was a rush the court moment, one of the few at the Robins Center.
Believe that was when we first went to the tournament under mooney in the 2009-2010 season. That was a fun time because that game was what really put us on the map as far as getting into the tournament. My dad and I rode 4 wheelers to the game and then we had a big bon fire in the Tuckahoe elementary parking lot after the game. I was out of school for almost two weeks over all that snow from what I remember.
Checked with my daughter about my earlier post about the baby crawling contest - the gift certificate for Ukrops was $250 not $150 as I originally posted. The Ukrops are fine people and have been great benefactors of the University of Richmond. I have missed their presence at Richmond events in recent years.

had to go deep into the archives to find this one, but ha! it's irrefutable evidence that some of you have good memories...
there is a mention of the weather and the crowd that showed up...lots of good defense and offense by the Spiders...a glimpse of the Baby Race...and the court rush by the students...
only just over a decade later, it seems like a 1000 years ago...we were "Giant Killers" then!

I guess my memory wasn't THAT good...looks like it was a different game when we were shutting them out for 12 or 13 minutes. This one only got to 7-0 after 3 minutes before they scored.
It wasn't Temple. I can't recall now who it was. Maybe LaSalle or St. Louis. I know because I went to that game, got to sit in like the second row because literally no one was there.
Yes I remember & pretty sure was at that game. And if it wasn't that game, I do remember being at a game with a lot of snow on the ground. Of course in Richmond, people thing if we get 3 inches that's a lot of snow.
There was a SLU snow game in the same relative time period +/- 5 years.

Just going by stats they are horrific at defensive rebounding and preventing opponents from going to the FT line often. So though the Spiders shoot a ton of threes, maybe Mooney can adjust and get the players to at least ATTEMPT getting to the basket more often?
With the VCU 3PT defense I don't see inconsistent Spider 3PT shooting having a good game from deep. And let's not forget, please follow Tyler and Grace's lead from last game and ATTEMPT hitting the offensive boards. I'm only asking for an ATTEMPT.

Question for the Richmond natives…Is it still looking like 3-4 in of snow and how is the state and school about cleaning roads? SpiderMom isn’t going for it but I still want to try and make it. I hate not to be a big rivalry game even though Dji is still out😞…any help/advice is appreciated 🕷🏀
I don’t know about weather but just want to say to brace yourself. Depending which group of VCU fans you are by you’ll get anything from good discussion to being spit on (maybe not during Covid) or drinks/food sent your way. The walk back to the dorms (or car in your case) is also a time they’ll take cheap shots in the rare instances they** lose. They hurl Lots of racial slurs too

Gotcha…I’m always down for some aggressive talks 😀 Don’t think I’ll have to worry about the walk bc I’ll be waiting to see Dji so they should all be cleared out by then. Hopefully since we always sit directly behind the bench there won’t be any foolishness but I’ll be prepared 😀✊🏼
I’m thinking VCU will be a very tough matchup for Tyler. We should play more Nick if they lock him down early. Definitely worried about Tyler’s ball handling and doing to much to create might cause unnecessary turnovers vs VCU
