Lots of good grades to go around today:

Gilyard: Good lord. He had 0 points and 1 shot at half and we commented that we still thought he was the first half MVP. And then the second half game and he was just completely took over on both ends of the court. His court awareness and anticipation are on a different level than every other player on the court. Special player.

Goose: I thought this was Goose's best game all year. Yeah, the dunk and alley oop will get the attention, but what he did on the defensive glass on the first half was pretty special. He only got credits for 2 blocks but he misdirected several others.

Sherod: Anytime he hits his first shot, he usually is in for a good night. His shot was pure all night and he also added 9 boards. Great game, that is what we want from him every night.

Golden: No one has been more critical of Golden's defense than I have. He stayed between his man and the bucket all night and didn't give up any easy points. Exactly what we want from him on defense. He had some great looks on offense with 6 assists.

Cayo: Only player who didn't have a good game. 5 turnovers in 19 minutes. Yikes. Perhaps he was a bit tentative first game back.

Francis: Typical Francis, gonna take a lot of shots and score a lot of points and be a general pest out there for the other team. Would like to see a little bit more game awareness when we have the lead. We don't need a spin around 3 point shot when your up 20 with 15 seconds left of the shot clock.

Grace: Played a decent game. Still soft on defense at times, but played much better tonight than recent games.

Sal and Woj: Both played, nothing noteworthy from either.

Moondog: Thought he did a really good job of managing Cayo and Grant in their first game back. Got them frequent rest throughout the game.

I thought that Gus would need a good game with Burton out, and he did. Seems like he is coming into his own. Great to see. The Good Triumvirate (Gilly, Francis, Sherod) all have good games. Nice to see Sherod bounce back.

Right now we are the clear number 2 in the A10, sorry URI and VCU - this is the truth until I see otherwise.

In Cayo's defense, he was assaulted about four different times when he had the ball, and no call. Never really seen a crew of refs so disinterested in calling fouls (on both sides, in fairness). Buy Cayo seemed to get the brunt of it.

Ha. Having watched VCU play a bit, we are playing better right now. Interesting we both COC and ODU in the next couple of weeks, so that will make for an interesting comparison.

In the refs' defense, yesterday was the Black & White Sunday sale at Foot Locker, and stores closed at 5

How many games this year has Gilly had very few points in the first half?
It seems like he spends the first half getting everyone involved, then gets his own point early in the second half...

Even though none of the opposing teams offenses have been world beaters, still...
We have allowed an average 55.8 points in our last 6 wins. I didn't see that coming.

yeah, seems like every game. he made a point in the post game to say that he's trying to show that's we as a team are too talented to take any bad shots. we can always get good ones. or something like that.

Gilly's attitude is what makes this team good - players are looking for the best shot for the team instead of the best shot just for themselves. That unselfish attitude has led to better shot selection.................and better results................

I know many are surprised with Andre jumping and speed.I am not and have seen this type of player everywhere. Many coaches think that and that is why they do not look .

Maybe now the eyes are opened and one day a pivot comes.
If you do not turn on the radar you can never see.

The mind of AAU culture blocks the American coach eyes.

I enjoy watching and think Coach has clear picture of team and players. He just has the plaid sports jacket that is too short too short is all

Ha! I always look at what Coach Mooney is wearing and wonder what Coach Fezz will think of it!
