If The Dillweeds go FBS will they drop the Spiders and Indians from their schedule?

Maybe not every year but we would have the pleasure of them paying us to play them at their place frequently.

I don't think there's much upside for either school for the series to continue after the Pukes leave.

JMU would have to double their student activity fees to afford us
I always like to point out JMU friends their football programs success is on the back of dropping a ton of olympic sports and overcharging students with athletic fees and actually losses more money than it brings in.

JMU has to make this move with what they put into it, doesn’t mean the grass will be greener. Once they are on an even playing field they’re gonna miss the days of dominating the CAA for a chance to play in the Potato Bowl in Boise. Being a few years behind all those other former FCS teams that made the jump wont help either.

JMU actually may be in a bit of a tough spot with student fees. As an FCS school, they're allowed to fund up to 70% of their athletic budget through student fees, based on VA law. If they move up to G5, that drops to 55%. Yes, revenue will go up thanks to TV money and other factors, but so will expenses, so not sure what their budget will look like.

Agree, it will be interesting. Same size fish in a much larger pond.

Any idea if other states are similar?
