Typical Chris Mooney Team

Beating a bunch of cupcakes masked the fact that this is a typical Chris Mooney team. Against quality opponents we won't shoot well, will give up a lot of 3s, won't be nearly as athletic as the other team, and will give up a ton of offensive rebounds and second chance points. The team is lucky to not be 7-6. Any at large chance has gone down the drain. The last four games have been awful and we will be lucky to be .500 in conference.

While part of me is inclined to agree (and in fact does agree), I will also say that most years we suck OOC and then win a bunch of games in league play that we never expected to win. So if that happens this year, we can finish in the top 4. I don't know if that is enough to get a bid, but maybe we can actually catch fire in the tournament for once and win the thing.

G, was that aimed at the ref or FMM you think. That picture gave me a good laugh, thanks for sharing.

Could have just been trying to work out . Who knows.

But I know this much...one look at the Moon Man right there and everyone knows he's got it all under control. The 8 year ncaa drought will not turn into 9.

I believe it is the Dec. 11th version of the show, but I could have the wrong date and don't feel like re-listening now. That is all I needed to confirm my fear and the drum I had been beating about Hardt for some time. He is all in on Mooney and will be extending him so he can wrap up a bountiful 2021 class of recruits. Even after his only experience was two 20 loss seasons, a few early season wins and a NYC trip hanging and observing Moon has him sold. So we have five more years, probably as much as Mooney wants. I have zero confidence in Hardt to hire the next coach, though he did do a good job to bring in his coach from Bucknell for the ladies - I'll give him some props there. But based on his reference to Mooney as a great coach, I am at a low confidence level for his ability in mens hoops.
I actually was angry about this for the last couple years if you did not notice, and I think (I THINK :)) I have finally reached a level of complacency and hoping we can catch lightning at the A10 tourney, and also maybe beat VCU once this year. That is my focus. I will be at the URI game cheering the team on, and maybe Fordham too, but I will fall into the Richmond way of thinking and just be happy no players arrested and win some games.

I will now focus on jinxing my 2nd favorite team, the SDSU Aztecs. Now there is an older coach who is very appreciative of an opportunity, a nice paycheck (less than Mooney's) and a coach that will not settle for major holes in his roster and work actively to fix his roster. Very motivated 60 year old coach who has a focus on defense and rebounding, and really means it.

When I was watching the game last night I just got so angry realizing I was watching the same story play out once again. Why do I spend so much time and energy watching this joke of a program repeat the same things over and over again year after year?

Last year there was hope that Mooney finally might go. This year there is no hope in that as the administration can hide behind 10 cupcake wins in non-conference.

23, Mooney has had that exact bama screenshot look (and feel) before. Each March for his end of season meeting with Jabba the Hardt. He’ll have it again. But it works! It works with Jabba somehow. This time mooney may be adding a choke job to his resume. 10-1 start with net 22 when u have missed 8 straight ncaas is that. 9 in a row with a choke job in the 9th w best class ever. &$%^ in your hands? Hey that means extension time!
