with a short recruiting season (change of staff), it may be a year to look harder at the transfer market. Those that study the returning roster, what positions should we focus on? Or put it another way, where do we need the most help?

I think DB and up front on the D-Line. Both were positions that cost us in the jmu game. We couldn't get consistent pressure on QBs all season and I think besides Mainsah that we were not that good in the secondary this year and also lose a lot back there. Also maybe add another offensive weapon particularly at receiver to help replace Brown.

I agree with the above. We need a big body in the middle of the DL and some secondary help wouldn't hurt.

I agree, Defense!!!! 43 points has to be enough to win, even in FCS.

Defense is definitely the focus. However, I wouldn't turn away from an offensive lineman, perhaps a center or guard, who can anchor the middle of the line in his graduate year.

Speaking of transfers, any rumors about any of our kids transferring out and following Rocco? With 3 talented running backs, one being a soph and the other two freshmen, I wouldn't be shocked if somebody left. But I sure as hell hope not, after last year we all know the importance of depth.

I think we must remember that Rocco sold out on us and our program and tried to trash us on the way out because we would be conference rivals. Richmond is by far the better football program and better academic institution. Why would any current player leave a Top 10 Program with a better academic profile for a rebuilding project in Deleware?

Haven't looked at the roster but how many redshirt juniors did we have this year? For those of you with the inside info, how many can we expect back next year? I am sure that there are some who upon graduation this May will just want to hang it up, with the change in regimes, and just want to move on with their livels.

No FCS team gave JMU a better game. We are a contender and I think they know it.

Not only do you sit out but you cant be on scholarship during that year off. Not sure what the rule is for grad transfers but intra league transfers is just not practical. I have no knowledge or rumors on transfers but I don't foresee anyone following Rocco.

I'd be mildly surprised if no one followed him, but if someone does I don't think it will be a difference-maker type of player.

I would think due to the coaching change itself and possibly not being able to filed a full recruiting class with guys we want, we might be more active in the transfer market this year.

Regardless of the reason, I am very disappointed with respect to the recruits who have de-committed as a result of the departure of Rocco. However, we still have a number of promising young men on our roster. It is not like the cupboard is bare or will be so in the year following next.

While I always welcome a transfer who can contribute to the current success of our team, I am hopeful that Russ leaves spots open rather than fills them with other than the type of student-athlete who can contribute to a program at a level to which we aspire, and that he will wait to fill those spots until the following year with young men who more suitably fit the profile of those needed to lead us to Frisco.

Gotta keep in mind the recruits that have or may de-commit, committed to a program with a specific offensive/defensive scheme. Russ has a completely different philosophy on both fronts than Rocco. It may be the case of a square peg trying to fit into a round hole. Russ will figure it out and I am sure he will get the personnel he feels he needs.

That's why it would be nice if some of his commits at UTC switch over to us.

Whatever happened to a kid committing because they like the SCHOOL? Now they plan their academic around what type of scheme? That may make sense to an Auburn or Miami commit, but I would like to think that most Richmond kids are coming here because our school offers much more opportunity for their future.

Love Huesman's attacking defense but Rocco's offense was solid. Sure hope Huesman's offense can keep up the tradition.

This morning rtd mentioned two more hokies not returning for final year of eligibility. Think both on target to graduate this summer. 1 highly recruited RB that battled some injuries and carries some baggage. Not interested in him, but The other was a highly recruited DL (end) that says he is hanging it up. Wonder if RH has reached out to either? It was nice having the grad tranfer from VMI this season adding some depth to the DL rotation.

If he stated publicly he no longer wanted to play -- doubt I would pursue him

Wonder if Russ has his eye on this kid who graduated from ND,is not on their 2017 Spring roster, has eligibility and who could handle KO's and long FG's.
