As my name suggests, I am from Pennsylvania and my wife is a Penn State grad. I follow both the Spiders and Nittany Lions. I was reading the bio of Trace McSorley and it notes that his dad, Rick McSorley, played football at Richmond. Does anyone remember Rick McSorley?

Yeah I played with that dude.
I hadn't been following PSU that closely (except for my college pools), and didn't realize Trace was his son. Awesome!

Trace McSorley is listed at 6'0 and 205 and that might be generous, but he is tough and gritty and a real good dual threat QB. Bio also shows he took HS team (Briar Woods HS) to four Virginia state championship games and won three of them. Not sure what kind of player his dad was. I think I saw somewhere dad was a DB.

Met Rick when he was working a job up in NOVA in the early '90's. I was then at Southern Health down here. He and his wife took me out to eat - they announced that they had just found out about their first pregnancy. Now that first pregnancy is a PSU starting quarterback. Am I really that old? Ouch.

Don't know Trace's dad but have watched Trace a lot, he is a gamer, a leader, and a winner. He won't playing in the NFL but if your a college program, you want him as your QB. Penn State is back on that national map and has national championship aspirations this year, Trace McSorley is a big reason why.

Trace is indeed playing in the NFL. He looked better than RG III yesterday (that is a low bar).
Real happy for him and his parents - Rick and Andrea were two of the nicest people I remember from my time at UR.

As is Will Grier (Carolina Panthers), son of former Spider Chad Grier. An interesting fact is that West Virginia played against Penn St in a battle of former Spiders' sons!

I do remember Rick as a pretty good DB at Richmond, and had some classes with Andrea. My wife knows one thing about the NFL this year and that is that Trace is on the Ravens and had a TD pass this week. Great to see him get an opportunity, hoping he has a long career.

What a game in Cleveland. Trace came in, was driving the Ravens down the field while Lamar was in the locker room with "cramps" - and unfortunately McSorley went down with a non-contact leg injury. Lamar comes out of the locker room to complete a go-ahead TD on 4th down.

Hope TM is OK, but it doesn't look good. I have no idea who the Ravens' third QB is - time to call up Kyle?

Did Kyle make Broncos practice squad?
