saw an article that I now can’t find that after winning a title in Israel, the Bucks added TJ to their summer league roster.

TJ is one of my all-time favorite Spider players and a guy you love to root for. We are not likely to see a better passing big-man than TJ, and that (along with his leadership and intangibles) could help him to land a roster spot on the right NBA team...

Dont subscribe to NBA tv and tried checking stats this morning. Said he was 3/4from deep and at FT line...kn eww w it was too good to be true.

Here's hoping he earns a solid look.

Harp on ESPN at 5 tonight with the Knicks.

TJ is a machine and an all time UR great that ran the team for 2 years, but he's not got the strength to play in the NBA. I'll get flamed for this. He was a superior D1 player, but unless he bulks up a lot he's a 2G for which there is competition he'll not overcome. Not a 4 ever in the NBA even if he bulks up that body to it's absolute max. .

I truly hope he manages to get there though. Love to see good players make it when I don't think they can. There are many who have done it.

TJ looked to be in great shape and I was surprised by his quickness.
Harp was painful to watch for he looked lost and not aggressive. Was not surprised
after a few minutes he was subbed out and never returned.

At 6’9” 220 I think he has the size to be a stretch 4. Not sure he has the natural athleticism that the NBA looks for though

He’s not being given serious consideration to make the team if they only give him 13 minutes to play.

Was watching a little of the Knicks game tonight, and unfortunately Harp went down with a nasty looking ankle roll. Hope it is just a sprain, but looked pretty bad and painful. Here's hoping it is not as bad as it looked, but not optimistic.

TJ has to be a stretch 4. his quickness has improved dramatically, but no chance in hell he defends NBA 2's and 3's. don't know why DaMan even brought up the thought.

I think it must be special food in Israel or maybe in Turkey that makes TJ quicker because we ALL know our strength coach knows all exercises to make a quicker basketball player. Only I think he does not. Is a problem.

So I'm far from being an NBA fan, but I did watch a few minutes of his game last night. He did seem quite a bit quicker on D than I ever recall him seeming at UR.

Of note, it seems like more than half of what made him great in college just doesn't translate to the NBA. Felt like all he was doing was sitting in the corners running motion and periodically setting a screen. I hope he finds a way to showcase something other than his three point shot.

I was watching the Bucks-Nuggets game, and it seemed like TJ was having his challenges getting involved offensively. He was also getting manhandled inside, and I think his overall lack of athleticism hurts him no matter how high his basketball IQ or skill level might be. But as another poster said, if he can hit 40% or more from 3, perhaps none of that matters.

I watched more of night 2 of the TJ Cline Experiment.

It looked a lot like night 1 of the TJ Cline Experiment.

Give the poor guy a ball down around the basket. All anyone seemed to do was jack up 3s.

Very few non-draftees on the Summer League roster of any team are under consideration for a roster spot. Occasionally, a player makes such a strong impression that he is able to command consideration but those rosters simply have to be filled out around the current draftees and 1-2 2nd year players (usually last years draftees) who made last years team.

For most (and TJ is in this IMHO) this is just a shot at general exposure for everyone there so that, for example, when they need a 10 day contract guy later in the year, people remember you etc.

TJ will have a tough time making it in the NBA. His best bet is get with a team that runs a system that fits his skill set, which is good IQ, good passer, and good shooter. Unfortunatley - by NBA standards - he is undersized. He is listed at 6-9, which means in the NBA he should be playing on the wing most of the time - but he is just not quick enough to play out there offensively or defensively. And not big enough (like a Draymond Green) to make a living banging down low.

I think best bet for TJ is go to Europe and make some money, and maybe impress some scouts for a future tryout or roster spot. And hopefully get on a team where they use him as second unit guy who picks and pops, or plays off the ball waiting for others to drive and kick for his shot.

Some dude called the Freight Train got the shot and just signed a 2 year deal and is officially an established NBA player. Yes sometimes that happens and quickly. Just sayin. There's this dude named Troy that commands league money and has made a playoff game winner and another that's just a contract away. RVA needs to be proud. Good things that happen out of RVA are good for everyone in RVA. TJ will get his shot. I expect he'll make the best of it.

TJ would be the best fit for a team like the Celtics or the Spurs.
