The next game against New Hampshire is vital. If UR wins it means they will likely make the playoffs. It also will give the Spiders momentum going into this important stretch of games. If the Spiders can close out the season by winning all its games, they will be positioned for a first round bye. If UR loses, all bets are off.

I am not sure we have the horses to win. I predict a New Hampshire victory, 31-27.
Cannot say I find fault in your prediction, but, curious, when you speak of lack of horses is that due to missing UR players or just believe UNH may be better. Hope we are both wrong.

We have the horses. It will definitely be a tough game, but we are playing a team that had to make a come-back at home to beat a URI team we ran through at their Homecoming. Not to look past our next two games, but I think we are headed for a winner-take-all game with W&M. I was hoping JMU would knock off W&M making that final game have less pressure, but here we are.

to me the key will be our gameplan. if we go up there playing conservative, not to lose, bad news. if we go up there with the same plan we had at umwcah, go for the jugular and step on the throat, we will win........ we have to play to win

I agree we need to be very ready for blitzes and frankly need to blitz more than normal ourselves. Given time virtually any CAA quarterback can pick you apart

Stonewall, not sure why anyone would say something like that. they will want it and so will the opponent, not just one team playing, a dog fight

not sure why this team would take their eye off of what is going on this season. this is going to be a very tough game, always is and we have a lot of incentive to be focused and play hard. still does not mean we will win but don't think it will be due to lack of focus or effort.

I think this team will be focused and will beat UNH. As Stonewall pointed out, we have not beaten UNH since 07. Rocco has had this team ready go each week. I am sure he is using the late 3rd/4th quater as Albany to motivate the team. Stonewall, Richmond has proven this year to be better than UNH. I understand this will be a tough game, but I think the better team (UR) will win. Also Stonewall, why do you think the Spiders dont want to win this game?

If memory serves, I believe Stonewall picked JMU as well. Maybe a reverse mojo thing. I believe it will be tough to win this game but we will. Our offensive line should dominate. Protect the ball and don't fall for UNH trickery.

This is sort of a ridiculous thread based on very little in the way of fact. What is the evidence that our team doesn't "want" this game as much as New Hampshire does? We don't have the horses to beat UNH?? I don't even know how to respond to that. UNH is an average team this year. Just ask all of its fans, who expect us to win by double digits. Of course we could lose, just as we could lose to everyone, but we are clearly the better team and we are the favorite for a reason.

I often wonder why some of our fans always tend to go negative or at least seem reluctant to give our team any real credit. This team has shown grit and heart throughout most notably at Hampton and JMU. They are a well coached and talented team that is fun to watch. They are on a mission and deserve more respect than this thread. Here is my opinion: We will beat UNH because we are a better team and will continue our march to a CAA Championship and a top 4 seed.

Author sets up premise of thread and answers his premise with 2nd post.WTF.Nonsense.

Yep. It's as if every new thought is a new thread on this board.

"Vital" is sort of relative term anyway. If we lose (which i do not expect), we pick ourselves up and go play Villanova next week, no?

Except about 1/2 the conference or more that is completely incompetent at Quarterback. Maine, Elon, Rhody, Delaware...

Purpose of this isn't to pile on the quarterback comment but look just how bad the quarterbacking play in the CAA has been this year. There are only 3 quarterbacks with double digit touchdowns through 8 games. The Maine tandem appears to be around 5th/6th in the conference and they have 5 TD's and 9 picks.

Not having Robertson in the CAA this year hurt, in general, but the Quarterbacking play in the league has been downright brutal this year.

That is correct, I picked JMU. I do not want UNH to win, but I think they have a very good chance. However, this year's Spiders team has surpassed every expectation and has defied the odds.

The Spiders are going to break the losing streak in Durham. It won't be a cakewalk, but it will be a win.

Heard the team was having problems leaving Richmond. Anybody know if they made it to Durham? I suspect their being there is vital to the game.

Plane originated out of executive airport near Miami.Delayed departure from there caused late arrival into RIC which caused Spider takeoff delay by 2.75 hours.

Hotel off I-95 near I-4 Portsmouth some 5 miles from airport.Likely hotel arrival 11:40pm

There was no weather issue today.None.

Get a new charter company. There are plenty of reliable companies out there.

Who's in charge of this logistic for us?2 trips in a row.Dumb planning.

I'll bet we were told to get a flight after 5 so the kids could get their dinner in D Hall to save money. Pathetic. Zero margin for error on a flight leaving at 545pm on a Friday night.
The flight should have been scheduled for lunchtime yesterday at the latest.

Let's hope a trip to Sioux Falls or Frisco is thought out a whole lot better.

having travelled a ton, timing is paramount, you do not take the last train our of yuma if you have an appointment. hope someone learned a lesson, go early not last minute.

Mo, you got it right. in past years those buses would be at the robins center running at 9am and gone by 10. they left themselves no room for walk-thus or meetings not to mention a decent nights sleep. if the administration does not take this seriously, how do they expect the team to do the same. hopefully the team are smart guys that can see thru this idiotic plan

This must have come from the top.

Well it is a 3 o'clock game so I imagine that they got a decent night sleep. But I agree they certainly should have left earlier or at least made sure that the aircraft was already here instead of rolling the dice a hoping it would leave on time. We need this win to keep momentum going, end the New Hampshire jinx, and LOCK UP A PLAYOFF BID.

during the radio broadcast Bob Black mentioned they took off after about an 8 hour delay. That makes it seem like the planning was not that bad. *shrug*

Well, how can the game be 'vital', if we lose it, and are still in strong position to win conference? We do need to beat Villanova at their home, and it won't be easy.
