This was maybe the most pathetic game in the modern Mooney era. The coach quit. The team quit. And we all saw it coming.
Beck has been around forever working with Bob Black. Great player but indoctrinated in the ways of Mooney. But tomorrow we need to lock out Mooney, Jones, hovde, Bob Black, Matt Smith and start over.Mooney’s postgame was predictable Mooney. Now Beckwith trying to tell people that the players are to blame more than the coaches.
should have put in the walk-ons at the 5 minutes to play mark
should start the walkon next game
Throw in the second string at this point. The season has more hope with the second string. Actually develop some future.turn the team over to joseph and hovde...throw the rest of them out
“I don’t think anything would change in terms of how we approach each coming game, or each individual game.
“It’s just a matter of us being ready, fresh, alert and things that I think we have been.”
Good to know the status quo is satisfactory.

Serious question for you as a vcu fan? Do you guys somewhat fear what would happen if we got rid of Mooney because you know we might actually become a challenger? My guess would be no because y’all know that no matter who our coach is the attitude for the whole university is just to compete, not actually try to win anything.I dunno I think hes a good fit
He does that because he wanted to try to get the score under 20 points. He always keeps his starters in when losing big to save face. “Hey look, we only lost by 20.”it was kinda embarrassing he left in gilly to the end & golden near it. Even to prove a little tiny point u sit them.
I’m trying to think of the last time CM showed any fire over a particularly bad loss. Obviously I recall the Charlotte meltdown in the A10 tournament, but I’m talking recently.“I don’t think anything would change in terms of how we approach each coming game, or each individual game.

He knows he can't fix it and he also knows that history has shown there are no consequences for not fixing it. Why get fired up? Why worry? Everything is fine.He knows he has no way to fix this.
Mooney has capitulated to himself. Think about that.I’m trying to think of the last time CM showed any fire over a particularly bad loss. Obviously I recall the Charlotte meltdown in the A10 tournament, but I’m talking recently.
Does he just not care about these bad losses anymore? Read the room coach…
While I somehow missed knowing this forum existed until last fall, I have been a loyal fan since school in the early to mid 90s … I get no pleasure in criticizing players or even Mooney and wasn’t supportive of the billboard approach … but believe after not succeeding with this talented class that somehow beat VCU twice four year ago ago, change must happen. He has tried and not succeeded. Time to let it go.He knows he has no way to fix this.
This is the result when you are "built a little bit more on fluidity".this is a very weak minded and weak physical team . They are soft like baby dupa, and Coach jacket today too short , bad fit
He should coach offense as an assistant for a coach who knows how to coach. When CM mercifully finally departs UR, hopefully by April (I can see the press release now: "The University of Richmond and Chris Mooney, the winningest coach in school history, have mutually agreed that...") it will be mildly humorous to see where he eventually ends up. Clearly not a higher conference and doubtful even a lateral move based on his resume. Would Patriot or CAA even have an interest since they are typically more focused on up and comers? Pitino was damaged goods for other reasons but even with his pedigree had to go way down to the MAAC. Maybe Alma Mater Princeton to save face, but can't even see them being interested and at 18-5 they're not looking.
Fluidity down the drainLol, the announcer Cuff certainly got that talking point watching practice, mentioned that we play with great fluidity.
Being a multi-multi millionaire tends to soothe the soul.Mooney has capitulated to himself. Think about that.
Honestly hard to imagine you guys doing well next year no matter who coaches. Cupboard seems bare. Got any monster recruits coming in?Serious question for you as a vcu fan?
