if you weren't at the Robins Center tonight you may find the announcement of the Queally's gift interesting and entertaining...

thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Queally for their remarkable support of the University and Spiders athletics.

Go Queallys and Spiders!

Clues on exact location? Speculation - toward the old refectory from RC or to the right toward parking lot and Weinstein Center? Anyone in the know?

Roughly like this, with the court in between Millhiser and the Weinstein Center.

I had a photo taken with four Pika brothers on the front steps of Millhiser last time on campus, glad I got that shot, since it will be gone in future years. We played a lot of basketball there back in the day.

Can only hope I can just drop 7 million on something someday and have it named after me.

Saw there is another thread about donating to the Cause for more details.

I hope the gift from the Queally's doesn't come with a stipulation that Mooney stay at the helm. Or rather they'll donate it based on his ousting (glass half full). Long overdue and a great gift for something the athletics program desperately needed to keep up with everyone else.

Still need another 7.5m to complete the funding though...

It seems there was Robins & Ukrop.
Then Jepson & Weinstein.
Now Queally and ?

Great news but not sure it helps with recruiting until it's built or at least ground broken. I mean how is a recruit influenced with "look what we have planned, of course we are still raising money and it might not be completed until your junior or senior year".
So, as excited as I am to see this news, I just feel it doesn't really help us until two or three years down the road..

Who would you include as our 2 most "well known locally" donors of the 1980s?
No one. It was just the Robins.. Robins Hall, Robins Court, Robins Center, Robins School of Business, Robins Gallery. There was not another family of great well known giving until Jepson arrived, with Jepson Hall / School of Leadership, and then the Jepson Alumni Center. Thankfully the Weinsteins took over from there with three named buildings Weinstein Hall, Weinstein Center and Weinstein International Center, and now the Queallys will have three named buildings.

There's no way there's a stipulation about the coach (either way) in this gift.

When Hardt goes to raise the matching funds, that's where we need the conditions to come from.

Hence why it's another convenient excuse for Mooney until then. There's always something.
