Thanks Guys

I came to Richmond the same year as Golden and Sherod. Gilyard and Cayo arrived the year after. My whole Richmond fandom has been spent watching these guys. Very proud of them all for rallying down the stretch and achieving their goal of making the tournament. To those guys, thank you for giving me the best memories I’ve had of Richmond basketball this year (winning the A10 and upsetting Iowa). The loss today stings, but it should not overshadow the incredible run they had down the stretch. Proud of these guys and proud to be a spider. Let’s take this years momentum and go into the future even stronger

Well said. They gave their all.

Great careers and they got us back to the NCAA and won a game there. This group didn’t quite match the success of Anderson & Harper, but exceeded the Cline, Jones & Allen group. Had fun the last 2 weeks. We’re back relevant - time to build.

What a comment after an incredible season. Guess nothing is good enough for you grumpy pants lol.
I would say ran out of gas, which is pretty much what happened. That game was living proof how much everything evolved around Gilyard. If he goes cold, so does the team.

Who can say that this team had five starters with over 1000 points each and two of them over 2000. Congratulation🕷🏀🎉🙌

Not to diminish what you are saying, but 1000 points isn't what it use to be. When you play over 150 games, you only need to average 7 points per game to score over 1000 and 14 points to score over 2000. Newman scored 2383 points in 122 games, now that is rarified air.

Exactly, these kids played for half a dozen years. It is amazing that every individual record was not broken.

Yes, but it took 25 years for a Spider to even come close to Newman's record

Need to look at minutes played and not games. The minutes our 8, 9 and 10 wouldn't equal many games played.

Grant played 68 minutes before collapsing his freshman year. 18 of his 2,246 career points came that season. so lets not make the 6th year a big deal, hmm?

everyone is allowed the extra covid year, or 2/3 of a year as it was. just not everyone chooses to do it at their original school.
