Texas Tech

There was a Texas Tech game on a few weeks ago. It was a ghost town in their arena for that game. And 4 pm on a Tuesday on the day of there bowl game, this should be about as best case scenario for playing a home game at a BCS level opponent.

Announced home attendance so far this year:

High Point: 2,881
Hawaii: 6,132
Sam Houston: 5,545
UT Martin: 4,767
South Dakota State: 4,996

Their arena seats 15k.

If we beat NDSU, I don't go to this game. If we lose, I might head to Texas for some hoops. I'm hoping I head to Frisco.

the young woman who lives across the street from me got home from tech about a week ago for Christmas break so most students will not be there.

That is one of the worst home schedules I have ever seen. Lol

Texas Tech dismantled University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, but the tougher challenge will be on Tuesday when they go up against the surprising 9-0 University of Arkansas Little Rock. I'm hoping that Texas Tech wins this game so that we have a shot at beating them with the highest possible RPI. It also helps that the only team Texas Tech lost to, Utah, beat Duke earlier today.

Texas Tech edged a surprisingly good University of Arkansas Little Rock team who was 9-0 and was receiving votes in both polls this week. Texas Tech is top 10 in RPI right now too. This would be a great win for Richmond to get before conference play. We would not only be finishing strong but have several solid resume wins.

Texas Tech currently showing as #6 in the RPI. Big 12 schedule is tough, but if they can go .500 there, they should be right on the bubble even with a loss to us.

I think this game will tell us a lot about where we are as a program, this year. I like our chances, and like that our Texas players get to play a game in Texas. But we appear, paper thin, can't remember a team lacking depth like this in the past. An injury, or foul problems, could plague us, we'd have to play someone with little playing time. Yeah, that is my complaint still. Even against pitiful Presbyterian, we couldn't get quality minutes for key backups. My key backups are Jesse, who is going to win more minutes in the A-10 season, and Paul F., who might not see the court for a full minute, again, this year. We aren't as deep in frontcourt, as I thought we would be, and we will be very thin next year.

On the other hand, Fore is the real deal, I see him playing starter's minutes. He does it all, fun to watch.

But living in the now, a win against Texas Tech on their court, is a great signal that we are on track for a trip to the big dance.

Fore is still learning but showing glimpses. He has to learn to limit his turnovers against the better teams where he has struggled a bit. But very good to see him drain some jumpers and threes.

Really want this win to complete our noncon. Does anybody know their style of play? Hopefully not a replica of Florida

Tubby Smith teams historically play VERY good defense and struggle offensively. The typical makeup of his squad is very athletic, but with limited offensive skills. They try to generate offense through defense and through offensive rebounding.

San Diego State & VCU actually play similar style games. The Spiders should do pretty well against the pressure, and If they shoot the ball decently (including 3's & free throws) I like their chances of picking up a pretty good road win.
