Sticky news threads or forum

The majority of the posts on this forum are now about why Mooney is a terrible coach or why someone is tired of all the Mooney is a terrible coach posts. I believe there is a silent majority of people who come to this site, many of whom may never post at all, who just want information on things like whether or not Bryce Golden has signed, who is not coming back, etc. I used to read every single post, but now I don't read most of them because I don't want to fish through 20 posts explaining why Mooney's failure to land recruit X means he sucks, some more posts about why the first 20 don't understand how tough recruiting is, and increasingly acrimonious recriminations all in the vain hope I'll eventually read useful information about whether or not recruit X is going to be a spider.

To that end, can we have either some heavily moderated sticky news threads or a news forum for the benefit of the casual reader who just wants to get quick updates on the status of the program? There used to be a nice balance of hard news and fan speculation on here, but now the board is just painful to read.

Bryce Golden, April 11. Stay Tuned. Amen, I hate to sort through all the posts on here lately.
We had posters on here claiming Fore was going to leave, and then posters claiming that this was just message board chatter, not real. Then some twitter account JOC says its real and we are back to square one. I cannot take it.

April 11 - H U G E news coming. Set your alarm for a week for today and just ignore this other nonsense.

Mountain, agree 100%. But as long as I can remember, few post any real news. I have always tried to share things I observed from practices and tweets concerning our recruits. I have always wished that more did the same.

I suggest anyone with real news start a new thread. anything inside that thread will just be reactions to that news. that will save readers who just want news a ton of time.

I think this is a good idea. There are 2 sticky threads already, but they are rarely used. Moderating a thread like that would be difficult though.

Civil discourse is not possible. A simple discussion about players devolves into vicious personal attacks on the players, coaches and the program. It is the same handful of people saying the same thing, over and over again. It is these same anonymous people who spread disinformation in all forms of media to undermine the team and Coach Mooney. Most of these people have almost 20,000 comments and do little else.

We have a sticky thread at top for recruiting news. Unfortunately, if you click on it, there is not a lot going on. We have 3 open slots and new transfers and grad transfers are being announced daily and I have yet to see "Richmond" as one of the schools that is pursueing any of these new players on the market. Outside of Sal, the Juco kid, and Bryce, all of which have their own threads, I don't see anyone else that we are active with right now.

97, you are forgetting the transfer (not grad transfer) from the Staten Island school that escapes my memory banks - though he is not a grad transfer.

You forgot our recruiting strategy - keep it on the down low, that way if we miss on a recruit we will not get hammered for such miss.

Not that I would bring up a miss like Riley Abercrombie.

Several of us posted that Khwan was transferring and were lambasted for posturing "fake news" last week.
