many Spiders fans began hearing about Blake Francis during the disappointing 2019 season...some said he was one of the best players in UR practices...accordingly, expectations grew substantially for his arrival in the 2020 season...

I think it's safe to say Francis has not disappointed many Richmond fans...his contribution to UR's turnaround season is in most fan's eyes one of the biggest contributing factors in our 24-7, 14-4 A-10 season...

when putting together the Francis highlights in the video link you can clearly see what Blake has brought to the team...he is a scorer...from outside (36.3% 3FG), mid range and taking it to the rim(41.7% FG)...

but it's not just the scoring that's helped lift the team, it's also his approach to the game...many believe his hard nosed, aggressive attitude and high energy have spread to his teammates...he wants to win!

to top things off he makes 80.5% of his free throws...many of them at crunch time...making FTs has helped the Spiders win close games all season...

no doubt Spiders fans have noticed the absence of the chronic extended scoring droughts of past seasons...many think Blake Francis deserves some of this credit...

Blake was unable to play when we lost to Dayton in January...I'd really like to see he and the Spiders play the Flyers again in Brooklyn...

enjoy the highlights...

Good luck in the post season...

Here’s the Wisconsin game highlights in which Blake had 19 pts,8-18 and 3-9 beyond arc plus 6 assists.Maybe you can weave into your above highlights.Great game to attend, terrific venue.

Francis was also consistent...he started in all 25 games in which he played...

he scored in double figures in 24 of 25 games...Auburn who followed Wisconsin in the Championship game was the only team that held him to single digits...

I expect he remembers that game and will go to Brooklyn this week with a little extra...

FYI, we ended up 24-7. Otherwise spot on.

My take on Francis is that the kid doesn’t get tight ass when the going gets tough. Last year the team puckered up so hard they were laying bricks. Blake has no fear and takes the pressure off Cayo and Sherod until they finally show up.

K, I am grateful for his aggressiveness and fearless attack mode. We have needed this type player, but I must admit I cringe on his decision making. In Duquesne game we were up 10 or 12 with around 60-80 seconds left and 20 seconds on shot clock and he takes an open 3 and misses. Really, if we can come back from 30 seconds down 7, other teams can also. If he was not quick and good ball handler, I would have sat him.
