Anyone have details on this? July 21 at The Robins Center. According to the ticket page:

"Alumni Basketball Game with all of your favorite former Spiders

Team Coaches - Former Spider Greats John Davis and Greg Beckwith

Kevin Anderson, Kendall Anthony, Cedrick Lindsay, TJ Cline, Darian Brothers, Greg Robbins, Ryan Butler, Darrius Garrett, Francis-Cedric Martel, Shawndre Jones, Marshall Wood, Trey Davis, Zach Chu, Terry Allen, Deion Taylor, John Moran"

Nobody invited me, Kenny Wood! Former players have been posting it on their social media, but I haven't seen anything from the University. Interestingly, it looks like it's being spearheaded by Kendall Anthony and Cedrick Lindsay. Perhaps the University isn't formally involved?

Interesting, are you the "real" Kenny Wood. If so, I congratulate you on a super career. I loved watching you and Terry dominate the inside at around 6'5". I remember one game in particular, may have been vs. Navy, when you got some bad news and went out and played an unbelievable game with some vicious dunks.

I hope this is not a snub on the pre-Mooney era players, as that list looks like all Mooney era? Hope you get hooked up with this and they invite Blair, and Shields, and Atkinson, Fleming, etc etc. too.

Seems like a public relations move to have past players praise Mooney. He has built such a great program. Wait till next year, going to have such a special bright year. oh wait we lost two starters don't worry we will find a replacement. Remember the future is so bright yet haven't reached an NCAA bid. Don't worry we beat VCU twice last year. Gets a trophy for beating VCU and not making the tournament.

If it is being spearheaded by K0 and Ced that list of players makes a lot of sense.

UGH! Just leave one effing thread free, for the love of God!

Hope there is a good turnout for this. Should be fun. I am looking forward to it.

Do they let you do that on the court? If not a full-fledged mask, check out the guy wearing Rambis goggles (with a jacket and tie).

Had this been canceled? I bought 3 tickets and was just refunded the money.

Does anyone have an update? Is this event still going on? Do we just show up at the Robins Center on Saturday?

I went to the website today and registered, then printed off a free ticket.

We will be there. Should be fun. I hope the weather doesn't discourage folks from coming.

Just thought of something, is this year’s team likely to be in the crowd?

We had a great time, and hope this event continues every year. Only suggested improvement is a way to keep score for the fans and maybe an announcer?

score was kept on timekeepers clock, may have been behind him. I would have liked a little more time for each kid to tell what they're up to now.

Sort of curious, why did only 11 guys show up? Seemed like 16 were announced early on?

Also, who were the 11 who played?

K - I can tell you that Darrius Garrett, for example, picked up a contract with a team in Africa and had a deep run. Said he needed some time off the game, so he had to back out, as his body just needed some down time.

Nice. I am glad that the guys came back and did this. This would be an interesting possibility for fundraising for the Athletic department. These guys don't necessarily make great money while playing overseas (though certainly not bad money, either), but they still have enough name cache with us to get people to go, I guess -- Sort of an in-kind donation on their behalf.
