really looking forward to getting a better idea about our team this weekend...like many I have been very encouraged by what I've seen so far, but let's face it, Hampton and VMI aren't exactly CAA level competition..

the Black Bears will be...the mojo they have working against us is impressive...we need to take care of the New England jinx Saturday and I believe we will...

a win over the Bears would be the logical next step in the development of the team...the way they play makes them very easy to pull for and enjoy...

Enjoy the Prologue...

Go Spiders!

looks like the weather will be better than many have thought. feel it will still affect the crowd, hope those that brave the elements will let the team know we're behind them

Are you allowed to take umbrellas into Robins Stadium?
No. Athletic Dept probably needs to remind folks of this policy at least on the website and via email, particularly when you're 100% sure it's going to be raining at the game. I tried to tell some folks today as they were walking up to the stadium to take umbrellas back to their cars. They didn't listen until event folks reinforced. This policy's been in place for football stadiums since forever but assume some of the non-informed weren't regular football game goers.

Once I got stuck behind some lady with an umbrella . I couldn't see of course, and the rain rolling down off of the umbrella into my lap was the final straw. After a few choice words to the lady, and then discussing it with the usher- well, I never saw that "lady" or her umbrella again.

I'm surprised someone doesn't sponsor a Spider Poncho Promotion, for days like yesterday.

While I definitely get how annoying it is to have an umbrella up in front of you, from what I recall, it's also a safety issue of not allowing them in ours and other stadiums. Most umbrellas people have are metal and could be lightning rods, particularly with all our metal seating in RS. And I think there was a case of them being thrown at people in a much larger stadium and some folks getting hurt. Reminding people of the policy and having some inexpensive ponchos for folks to buy (maybe a fundraiser for Spider Club or student organization) might be a good way to counteract any folks complaining about getting wet.
