Bored during quarantine so started coming across some old Spider Videos of some games and came across this classic. Video is obviously of 80s quality and the audio is off but enjoy seeing a time when state teams played each other more. I was only 5 months old at the time, but I am sure there is someone among the 7,500 at this game?
Sure miss (or never experienced) the days of playing the big boys regularly, and beating them as we did in this game. After this game Spiders went down to #4 GT and got waxed. Several familiar names on this team that many of us never got to see play so thought it would be a fun view for young and old Spiders. Several familiar names such as Newman, Beckwith, Rice, Winecki, Davis. Team went on to lose to St. Joes in the NCAAs that year. We played 11 games vs teams from VA that year.
