Are there any more updates on Spider COVID? Any idea how much longer this quarantine will continue? We know the Bonnies will be playing the Rams on Wednesday.
Only post updates about the Spiders and COVID only.

The guys have been mostly sitting on their butts for the past week. There was no assurance that they were going to be good to go this morning, and even so, immediately throw them on a plane and roll out the ball?

Yep, much better to let VCU go up and take that L while we can get healthy and pick up a couple Ws against Lasalle and St. Joe's. It will work out pretty well for us.

It must be driving them nuts to not be able to do anything hoops related.
pretty much haven't been able to do anything at all. I think classes just started yesterday. couldn't hoop or lift. guess it was XBox and Netflix.

I'll save spiderman from having to say it again: There were no classes of any kind for just about all of the COVID pause, so there was no classwork to do. Second semester didn't start until two days ago.
Old man rant
"Back in my day, we would get out of school at 3pm Christmas eve and have to be back by Noon on Christmas day.
And we were glad for that break and we liked it!"

Did I miss anything?

Maybe the single orange as the only present split between 3 kids?😁

Well Mooney has a good point there. Also is the team & staff really all staying in a hotel? They'd have been more isolated in dorms or the on campus apartments with all the other students gone. Rather than in a public hotel.

I agree with Mooney. That is ridiculous. No reason they can't come in for individual work outs. That said, these are 20 year highly conditioned athletes, they aren't going to suddenly turn into fat slobs and forget how to shoot in 9 days from not working out.

Hotels have more people coming and going than campus apartments. Seems counterintuitive. Just wrap them in bubble wrap and let them play ps5 in the apartments for two weeks.

Saw the NBC12 report - 54 cases at UR in the first week of the semester. We may be headed towards another pause before too long.

Most of these are off campus students, UR is moving pretty aggressively to isolate that cohort from the on campus student body until case counts come down.

doesn’t necessarily eliminate the prospect of another pause but it should reduce the chances.

Are there additional updates? Are the Spiders even practicing? I would imagine the coaches would not want to come back, unless they were ready.

I bet the team was staying at the Ramada Inn over by regency mall. That might explain why they can’t get rid of cOViD.

According to Mooney, a handful of guys were able to start working out again yesterday, with everybody else expected back by the end of the week. One guy didn't have to pause because he was the COVID positive that triggered our previous pause.

The school as a whole had more cases in the first week than the whole fall semester. Then they waited 2 weeks to let off campus students back on campus this week.

I fear this is a recipe for disaster for athletes. If I was a coach right now - I would say to my team, don't go to class, stay in your room, do everything virtual and come to practice and thats it. Otherwise - we have another pause coming and I don't think we can survive another pause with hopes of NCAA bid.

OMG what torture. The poor kids. Such abuse of an entire generation.
