To date, I am impressed that the Spiders have been able to play 5 of their first seven games at home. There is no doubt that this has contributed to the team's 6-1 record. The Spiders have posted quality wins against three power 5 schools. This has contributed to the team's confidence.

Agreed. This was some smart scheduling. We're more than halfway through OOC and haven't played a true road game yet. Front-load the OOC with our soft P5 opponents and build confidence for the tougher end of our schedule. Great job.

Duke has been famous for this over the years especially if K thinks that his team may be young. Cupcakes at home to build confidence. They have that luxury being in the ACC though since the schedule in conference is brutal.

VCU, by contrast, has overscheduled cupcakes at home and is probably looking at two or three sub-300 wins by the time it's all said and done. They've obviously played three good teams, too, but are only 1-2 in those games and the win was at home so it counts less.

Said in the other thread, that I think our schedule matches up well with VCU's. But you are right, VCU has some really bottom barrel teams on their schedule. Four of their 6 wins thus far have come against teams with a combined record of 7-23. Of those 7 wins, two of them are non D-1 wins, and 2 of them are over Chicago State, annually one of the worst D-1 teams in the country.

We have a far more impressive resume to date than does VCU (and a better record).

My guess is that VCU's first team sheet will read
Q1: 0-2
Q2: 1-0
Q4: 5-0

And ours will be:
Q1: 0-1
Q2: 1-0
Q3: 2-0
Q4: 3-0

Yep. Ours looks better.

Dayton?
Q1: 1-1
Q3: 2-0
Q4: 2-0
