I was able to watch the last 7 minutes of today’s game. As the end neared, the camera focused on Grant sitting on the sideline as he sat still staring ahead-such a sad ending. I really feel for these players. So sad that those in leadership positions let them down, and let us all down-time and time again. I wish only the best for all of our Spiders players.

It really pains me to know that Golden, Sherod, Gilyard, Francis, and Cayo will have gone through so much hard work and not have it lead to a NCAA tournament appearance. It saddens me that the same goes for Terry Allen, Shawndre Jones, and TJ Cline. At least Khwan got to play in one at Louisville.

That is 8 players who have played at an All A-10 level during their careers who did not get to play in the tournament. They gave so much to this program and it chewed them up and spit them out. I just wish we could do better by them.

The Hokies have spots open for all the seniors and UR’s team this year! If they want to play in the postseason they should transfer in state and play for the best team in Virginia. I would gladly take any one of them as a grad transfer.

Don’t forget to put Kendall Anthony on that list

You are absolutely right, I meant no disrespect to him. I mistakenly thought he was on the last ncaa tourney team (since that was before my time I forget Who was on the team)

Last frosh class in the NCAA Final Four Tournament was Cedrick Lindsay and Derrick Williams - it’s been a damn long time.

remember when Philly Bob said the MINIMUM expectation was that every incoming frosh go to the NCAA at least once in their career? I expect he’d walk that back now just like everyone in the program seems to do with things. What’s wrong, things r just dandy...it’s a hard candy Xmas.

yeah, like I have said before it's hard to imagine as many players as we have had in the past ten years that would easily be in the program all-time greats discussion and not a single one of them experienced March Madness. Most schools "all time greats" make it there at least once, we could seemingly field an entire team of them that never made it. Incomprehensible really.

All those players...and all those UR students, now alums who never experienced the excitement and pride of a trip to the NCAA's. You'd think our Administration and Athletic Department would understand that the best way to get folks to donate to the University is when they are full of pride and excitement for their alma mater. Every year that passes I feel more grateful to have been a student back in 1998 when I got to witness us win the CAA tournament, punch a ticket to the dance, and then take down #3 seed South Carolina. Richmond was all over the news for that 48 hour period...you literally can't buy that kind of publicity...and those NCAA units weren't bad either. That wasn't some impossible dream scenario, we just need the people in charge to actually want it instead of just telling us that they want it but not executing a plan to actually get us there.

I hear we are taking a new copyright for "March Sadness"...

Agreed! Vcu obviously figured out the value of this free publicity...not sure why the UR brain trust doesnt understand it.

Too busy pursuing their improve society agenda......and relegating the school to a lesser priority.......................
