The Richmond area lost one of the most consistent callers to the local shows over Christmas. Robert “Gary” Pleasants died when he was hit by a car crossing the street near the Village shopping center. Can’t say I was a big Gary fan, but he definitely loved to talk Richmond sports.

I guess Bob Black is going to now have a free first caller spot open and there may be less softball questions for CM.

Gary was a huge SPIDER fan, called into shows quite a bit, think he worked at Phil's for a long time. he had some issues but it never stopped him from calling in and expressing himself, the community will miss him, a sad day. thanks for all you gave buddy

agreed on both posts - go Gary could always be counted on for his enthusiastic support. Didn't realize he had been a UR employee.

Prayers to his family. As mentioned he was always the first caller to UR coaches shows for a long time. Not sure when that changed to Ivan. I believe he worked at the Pier in the Commons. I didn’t know the connection until it was stated he worked at UR. Garry had a signature send off with his Go Spiders Go Spiders Go Spiders. He left his mark. RIP.
