don't get me wrong, I'm awful glad we were able to pull this one out...it keeps our season alive
but instead of leaving The Brick House with a giant dose of adrenalin and euphoria, I felt like I was watching the Elon game all over again, with the Spiders on the fortunate side this time, dodging another bullet...
I know our defense found a way to stop the Great Danes running game...Trau was kicking like an All American candidate again...Lauletta and the WRs continued to make history...we didn't turn it over...we staged a helluva comeback...but!
we let a UAlbany offense that was shutout by Elon put 31 points on the board in regulation...instead of being bludgeoned on the ground we were torched through the air this time...we got some critical stops, but UAlbany put together real drives and converted 9-17 3rd downs...conversely our running game continued to struggle ave. a measly 2.6 yds. per carry...we only converted 4-12 3rd downs and lost the possession game 36 minutes to 23 minutes...
I guess I was hoping the two weeks would give us time to regroup and begin to look like a CAA contender...sadly I didn't see it out there today...
but don't be too forlorn, as a famous Spiders coach once said, "a win is a win." or something like that...I will try to feel better about it...
on to Towson...our season is still alive and anything can happen!
Go Spiders!
