when we left for the game today The Sheriff muttered that she thought we were in for a very long day...the struggling start to the season had hammered down lofty hopes and expectations to ground level...we entered the Robins Center just hoping for a little progress since W&M...the Spiders shocked us again...this time in a good way!
if you weren't able to see the game these amateur clips from the second half will give you an idea of what the Spiders did to keep the Bulldogs on the mat for the entire game on both ends of the court...energy, aggression and execution we hadn't seen so far this season enabled the Spiders to bury Drake at the beginning and you know what?...we never let up...
UR ended the game on a 22-10 run after the Bulldogs only run of the 2nd half...
and how about Neal Quinn?...whatever T.J. Cline helped him with it sure worked today...that was a performance that he can build on...Quinn set the tone inside for UR in the opening minutes and the Spiders went on to dominate the Bulldogs in the paint all afternoon...
now that we've seen what the Spiders can be, our expectations have been raised again...obviously the next challenge is sustaining and building on today as a team...the schedule would appear to give us a good chance to further strengthen our game before the A-10 season begins after Christmas...
Go Spiders!
