this one was a lot easier than I expected and I'm glad we finally snapped that bad Maine and New England mojo...

I have no idea how competitive this squad will end up being, but they sure are easy to pull for...they play great fundamental football...on just a miserable day no turnovers, no bad snaps, no special teams breakdowns and few penalties...they play like a well coached team...

The win was the logical next step in their development into what I hope will be a team that can compete with the best at the end of the schedule...

What can you say about Lauletta, Diggs and Brown except it's a great show...kudos to the O-line on their pass protection...and once again our defense shut down the Bears in the second half...against each FCS opponent we have dominated the second half...

Job well done Spiders!

You may find these eight plays entertaining...

Great video....Always good to see the plays from a different angle.

Mojo-Spider, it was nice to meet you in person. You make a lot of really good points about the game. I was a little surprised that the coaching staff was so aggressive with the pass game in less than ideal conditions, but the players executed the game plan about as well as one could expect. Great game all around by the Spiders!

PaSpiderDad, I agree, I expected to see Seth and Jacobi pound the Black Bears, due to the weather conditions. Happy to say, that our passing attack appears on track, regardless of weather conditions. Going to be a fun season.

I'd hasten to add that Seth and Jacobi, did pound the Black Bears, as well.

Good comments TBSpyder. Seth and Jacobi compliment each other so well as a thunder and lightning duo.

We have a favorable schedule this year. The season will come down to the usual Villanova, W&M, JMU, and Del games. we need 2 of those minimum and we make the playoffs. That W&M game looms large. Watching them earlier this year I was not very impressed except for their O-line and D-lines.

Blue Hens are young and getting better every week.Their early loss to JAX was offset by last weeks win v Tribe on a last play FG.
We will play them next year, hopefully not in Newark. They will be very good next year.Brock is putting the foundation back together again without transfer or Juco support.

The candor of the Maine coach was good. Three things he mentioned multiple times - physicality of UR, play selection and our wide receivers Diggs and Brown. You can tell this team is playing with attitude on both sides of the ball. I think our offensive plan is better than the past few years, especially when you consider new players in the schemes. Finally, 11 & 12 are becoming real forces in the league.

one game at a time ---- I know old cliche, but still works

exactly fan, you cannot always come out and play to the same level each and every week, see it with numerous teams each saturday. if we can play with the same intensity and passion this week against elon that we did against maine, super but no guarantee that will take place, thus could be a very tough contest.

Good point Spinner and do we not think Elon owes us? I would imagine there is
a pretty big chip on their shoulder. The Spiders have been a thorn in their side.

I agree with you Carolina. The Phoenix are 0-5 against us and would love to pull the upset. Having said that, I don't believe that it will happen. Elon is rebuilding and they are very young. The Spiders won't overlook them and we will match or beat the spread.
