My take too.Our football auto isn't operating on all cylinders. We have a single thread offense centered almost exclusively on the passing abilities of Kyle.He willed our win v Albany.
Having a one dimensional offense we are vulnerable for increasing blitzes or an injury to KL.
Our defense is porous. We are espousing week by week adjustments either to the defensive line for a better pass rush or stop the run or calling out our DBs to cover better. We seem to be playing catch up with attempting to get our defensive house in order.
If we continue to operate this way we may end up breaking even for the season. If we can get all the cylinders to operate effectively our future will include playing ball in December.Otherwise
our rivalry game with the Tribe will be it.
Was that before the playoffs expanded?I can't get comfortable about 7-4 being good enough when we didn't get in a 8-3 couple years ago
Yes it was. Let's just keep the attitude of going 1 and 0 every week and see where it goes. Let's get back to the playoffs. Was that before the playoffs expanded?
VT - you're wise beyond your years. Agree this week is all that matters. Focus on Towson - we can't control beyond that. Just take care of business each week and it'll play out.Yes it was. 7-4 with 3 losses to potential top 10 teams (SHSU, Nova, and JMU) might still get us in the playoffs as a road team. Unfortunately the way we are (not) playing defense and (not) running the ball makes me think we will drop one or more of these other road games such as Towson or Delaware. I hope i'm wrong and we figure some things out here soon but the first few games has shown the adjustment to the coaching change to be more difficult than anticipated. I still think Huesman is a good coach and will be solid long term but this could be a tough, transitional year.
