Here's my predictions for the rest of the season starting with this weekend against Towson:

@ Towson - W
@ Delaware - W
Stony Brook - W
@ Villanova - L
@ JMU - L
William & Mary - W

Team finishes 7-4 and misses out on the playoffs.

I don't know that we'd be out at 7-4 with those results, particularly if we play them close...lot of at-large spots to fill. Would certainly help if Elon keeps winning, making all of those losses reasonable ones.

Would also be good if Stony Brook can knock off UNH...might get the Seawolves back in the polls for our game.

All that said, one game at a time...those W's aren't gimmes.

Our losses has only been to top 25 teams, this should help. If we lose to ranked team among the projected 4 losses, we should be okay.

I think we'd be pretty safe at 7-4 and i think it's a reasonable goal for the rest of the way. I just don't see how we're going to get through the rest of this schedule at 5-1. 4-2 over this final stretch would be pretty impressive work, IMO.

Even 4-2 down the stretch is daunting with the schedule including 4 road games. Nova and JMU are going to VERY hard to win on the road. The Hens are much improved and will be playing with purpose and attitude (and at home) and I am even concerned about this week cause we have been anything but impressive so far.

Our football auto isn't operating on all cylinders. We have a single thread offense centered almost exclusively on the passing abilities of Kyle.He willed our win v Albany.
Having a one dimensional offense we are vulnerable for increasing blitzes or an injury to KL.

Our defense is porous. We are espousing week by week adjustments either to the defensive line for a better pass rush or stop the run or calling out our DBs to cover better. We seem to be playing catch up with attempting to get our defensive house in order.

If we continue to operate this way we may end up breaking even for the season. If we can get all the cylinders to operate effectively our future will include playing ball in December.Otherwise
our rivalry game with the Tribe will be it.

My take too.

I can't get comfortable about 7-4 being good enough when we didn't get in a 8-3 couple years ago

8-3 in, 7-4 very iffy. Again if we don't win Sat, it's virtually all irrelevant

Yes it was. Let's just keep the attitude of going 1 and 0 every week and see where it goes. Let's get back to the playoffs.
VT - you're wise beyond your years. Agree this week is all that matters. Focus on Towson - we can't control beyond that. Just take care of business each week and it'll play out.

7-4 with 3 losses to potential top 10 teams (SHSU, Nova, and JMU) might still get us in the playoffs as a road team. Unfortunately the way we are (not) playing defense and (not) running the ball makes me think we will drop one or more of these other road games such as Towson or Delaware. I hope i'm wrong and we figure some things out here soon but the first few games has shown the adjustment to the coaching change to be more difficult than anticipated. I still think Huesman is a good coach and will be solid long term but this could be a tough, transitional year.

Heck, Elon is a potential top 10 team at this point.

Given how anemic the VU and WM offenses are, I think the next two games are the bigger hurdles to our hopeful playoff bid.
