Great, they'll be plenty of room to stretch out on the east aide now with all those empty seats in the student section

Am I the only one who thinks moving the student section to the east grandstands is a bad idea? This won't make the students want to go to the games any more and now we are losing revenue that could have gone to season ticket holders

The students wouldn't go if they sat at the 50 yard line and there was a 50 dollar bill on their seat when they got there.

Having the extra hospitality areas should generate more overall revenue, IMO. Additionally, the cost of putting up and taking down tents must be far lower that that monstrosity of an end zone structure that nobody sat in.

Fair enough. I heard we're trying to play up fraternity tailgates more next year to get more student interest.

Are there any fraternities remaining on campus?
I thought that most were gutted.

There's a ton of sororities, though. I'd say 1 out of 2 females on campus are in a sorority. Probably one in 5 males in a fraternity.

I think its a good move. I like that they are being proactive. Lets try somethings , rather than sit back and just complain. It definitely isn't working, as we have it now. From what I was told, the students asked for this. Very few programs sit there students in the end zone.

I would really like to see more people actually in the stands, since we are reducing the capacity by 500, after an announce sell out let's offer up to 500 SRO tickets at half price. After the first quarter invite them to seek an empty seat in the stands.

Selling SRO seats for half price or something is a great idea. Plenty of walkable spots in our stadium to allow it, and it helps get people in if they somehow weren't able to buy tickets to a sellout.

I would say they should require students to claim their tickets by a day or so before each game, then sell any of those seats that aren't claimed, but of course that would just further reduce the number of students who show up.

Didnt unh do the SRO tickets for a bunch of years? Still think the best spot for the students is give them some elevated aluminum platforms right behind the visitor bench on the track. Would make it very difficult for opposing teams to communicate having students right on top of you.

We should also divide up the 500 visitors tickets into 100 groups of 5 seats, scattered throughout the East side.

There are still a lot of frat houses. I would love to see them relocated to provide more space for athletics.

The Lambda Chi, Sigma Chi and Pika houses were demolished and replaced by the B5 parking lot. All the houses on the other side of Old Fraternity Row (SAE, Phi Delt, SPE, and Fiji when I was in school) are still there, as are the four houses up on New Fraternity Row, the site of the old end of rush Block Party.

Pika (my house) is making an push to get back on campus. It has a very active (and very social) alumni base in the Richmond area, they tailgate in the upper half of the B3 lot at every football game.

How much noise can 13 kids make?

I'm pretty sure the STH in 114 & 115 would object to their seats becoming obstructed view.
