While we're at it, I found this article by the former Archbishop of Canterbury regarding British banks (all of those mentioned I believe can be found here) and scandels and lack of accountability. Sounds familiar. Reminds me of the "Ohio State gets found guilty of NCAA violations, Put Cleveland State on probation": Here we have "American banks get caught breaking laws, lets charge their account holders higher fees." Maybe if "a corporation is a person" Romney gets elected he can put a corporation in jail.

corporations are people and good people and just like any entity, there are good people and bad people. suggest doing business with the good people. the govt is no different, have some good people and bad people but we do know they are the most bloated, inefficient entity out there.

i would ask, where were the federal bank examiners who go through the bank to ensure that these types of things are not happening? that is called regulation and they have plenty of it. these guys will go to jail and that is what should happen and think it will. yet barney and his pals go scott free for what they did. don't know this obsession, other than watching the normal media and listening to democrats rail against business, corporations, banks, free enterprise, that you have against anything that is business. are you a socialist and just want govt to run all commerce?

"are you a socialist and just want govt to run all commerce"

Even for you thats abit much of an inquisition. When I took Carle Davis' tax class the tax code was contained in 4+ inch volume book. By the time I graduated there was a supplement about an inch thick. I'm not a pass more laws type of person. There are enough laws and regulations already. Just enforce what we have. Do you like laws and regulations. You seem to dislike lawyers who through litigation present checks and balances on society; an example being A Civil Action-the govt did nothing but the civil lawyers did. Pinto/Corvair blowing up? Lawyers did something that govt did not. So take the caps off of tort litigation, a governmental regulation, expose the King, a governmental protection and let the libertarians (and lawyers) roll on.

And just say no to govt bailouts.

And as to the Fed bank regulators, same thing -where was the SEC when Wall Street....

well one thing i do know, watched it, regulators came to our fed legislators and told them fannie and freddie were goners if action was not taken and they said, "you do not know what you are talking about". what a laugh, as one head after another departed those entities with millions while running it into the ground. we have a lot of things that are wrong in our country but the govt doing what they are doing currently, is the most frightening. have many friends who are attorneys and respect them, the institution but there are things that need to be changed and fine-tuned in several industries and MAN, do i detest the day back in the 80s, when they allowed attorneys to advertise, all you see, along with political ads or car insurance ads. we need some liquor and tobacco ads back.....
