Rankings and Polls

There's an outfit in Japan run by mathematical prodigies which ranks all American football teams from all levels using an array of variables. They use a proprietary algorithm which can only be deciphered by a Mensa Club in Tokyo. They have the Spiders ranked higher than the Philadelphia Eagles.I'm using that one.

There are 8 or 9 NFL teams right now that would take Lauletta. :)

They need to modify their algorithm. Or change their Mensa Club entrance requirements.
We are good, but I would think that a game with the Eagles would, at best, be a toss up.

Thanks 32, you are the best. I happen to be fluent in 7 languages and Japanese is among them. I just sent the following message to the current president of their Mensa chapter which was responsible for such a rash and unsupported conclusion suggesting that we would be the favorite in a game against the Philadelphia Eagles. As a Mensa member since age 18, I am hopeful that they will take note and replace their mathematicians.

Nota bene: I have set forth my message to their president, Sakioma, in Ryukyu, Japanese as predominately written today, and American English. Those not fluent in Japanese may wish to skip forward to the last paragraph.

Dear Sakioma,
As a Richmond Spider and a member of Mensa USA, Mid-Atlantic Division, I must confess that I am embarrassed by the conclusions of your members with respect to the assessment of the abilities of the Richmond Spider Football team and their overstatement of their unparalleled prowess.
I suggest that your mathematical representatives be sent back to Mensa 101to learn and incorporate into future formulae the nature of true variables inherent in any algorithm before they posit such nonsense as to suggest the Spiders would be favored over the Eagles. I refer them to the members of our Vegas chapter, all of whom are true mathematicians and have concluded that such a game would be a toss-up.
As a lifelong Eagles fan, I must conclude that you are, as so eloquently stated in reference to our US President by Philippine President, Rodrigo Duterte, a "putana ina," the son of a whore. Actually, I am going to go a step further and suggest that you are the son of a whore and a gigolo.
That notwithstanding, please replace your mathematicians. There are undergraduate students at the University of Richmond willing to consult with their replacements.
Sincerely,
iSpider

Spiders closing the gap!!!! OSC

North Dakota State plays Iowa this weekend. So, it is quite possible, we could be looking at a number 1 ranking come next week this time.

Frankly I don't want the #1 target on our back in Sept. Especially since we have playoffs were we have to earn it anyway.

well, when you win 5 or 6 championships in a row, a tad more than just home field. granted, a big deal but those guys have shown they know how to win.

#1 or #5, we are going to have a target on our backs from every opponent on our schedule, since we're likely to be their highest ranked opponent.

If this team goes out and takes care of business every week, they have a good shot at a top 2 seed. For some reason, it feels like this team is going to do just that.

True - but the last road game NDSU had to play in the playoffs (2010!) they lost.

Agreed. Let's go Hawkeyes. Let's go Spiders.
