We have 3 unquestioned starters for next year which leaves 2 spots up for grabs. Knowing what you know right now and with our current roster, what's everyone's early thoughts on who starts alongside Jake, Grant and Nick?

Knowing Mooney, I would guess JJ and Nate Cayo, but I bet that will change soon into the year.

K, this is exactly what I was thinking. JJ will likely start initially then Andre and Tomas will increase their minutes.

I guess my thinking for the question was not just who starts game #1 but for the season as a whole what is our starting 5.

Hard to say without knowing exactly where Sal and the redshirts fit in. Did I just name a band? "Sal and the redshirts"? I am thinking Nate will start, and JJ will come off the bench, leaving a number of options for the 5th starter.

Well, whoever starts - we need bench production this year. That is one thing that absolutely killed us. Someone can look it up, but there were way too many games in which the bench scored 10 or less points. We are starting at a deficit without Fore and Buck, so really we will be going even deeper to the bench for production.

My *hope* is that Sal is ready to play and starts at the 4, Sherod starts at the 2 and someone taller than Sherod starts at the 3. Not sure how likely this is, but with a starting lineup of Gilyard, Sherod, Cayo, Sal and Grant we would have a ton more height than the past 2 years and hopefully a decent defense. We would be 3 to 5 inches taller at 3 positions, that is a lot more height. Offense is a big question mark now since we don't really have much returning production outside of Gilyard, Sherod and Golden. Of course defense is a big question mark too.

This is the lineup I voted for.

This would be awesome. Truthfully, while I HATE the two departures that we had, this could be a positive -- our top talents end up resembling a more conventional basketball team, and those that were successful for us during some of our better years, team record-wise.
