POLL: Who do you want on Friday in Brooklyn?

Only if they win. Otherwise the 8 seed.

But no, I don't want a resurgent GW...

if I understand your thinking I believe you got my thoughts mite -- I'm not sure vcu can win the opening round at this point. If they do I would love the opportunity to take them out. As much $*&^% as our guys have had to put up with over the last several years I don't see them having an emotional let down against the lambs GO SPIDERS

Don't care who we play on Friday - let's beat SLU on Saturday. And very happy that we will be in the top 4 if that happens and have a first round bye.

^^^that's the spirit!

No such thing as a sure thing in this conference, let alone conference tournament. Eyes toward Saturday, big lead and allow our guys to save their legs by letting Chu & Crew run things for 10+ minutes would be great.

However, I too am a bit wary of facing VCU; not that I don't think we can beat them (and we have, obviously) but that would be one of the biggest games in so many facets of the game of basketball.

However, this season, we do have a 1-0 record in NYC, y'all!

"No Sleep til Brooklyn!" "Brooklyn, we go hard."

Beating a team 3 times in a year is tough, plus I want revenge against GMU, That loss is very likely to be keeping us out of at large consideration for the NCAA.

But a win over GMU might not help that at-large bid.

Our best schedule for an at-large might be

RPI - Win
Davidson - Win
Dayton - Loss

So do we want the best chance at an at-large or the best chance at the autobid?

As sweet as beating RPI three times would be, I'd be ok with them losing to Fordham and then us playing Fordham on their third game in three days.

With a hurt Paschal, Fordham won't put up much of a fight if they got to us, and since at-large probably isn't happening now I want them. Even though beating RPI and 3rd time would be nice

VCU shouldn't overlook these other Rams, particularly since playing at Barclay's is basically a home game for them. If Fordham doesn't turn the ball over and hits some shots, they can be a tough out for anyone. Have some talent, but if ROY isn't on the floor will be tougher. Agree that I would prefer to meet up with a worn-down team playing 3rd straight game on Friday and simply put them away early. Don't think we have a chance at at-large (because we don't have the PR factor) so I want the easiest route to winning this tourney and getting AQ.

I want the crosstown Rams again, three times a charm and I'm still holding out hope if we beat VCU, Davidson, and play a good game but come up short against Dayton in the final we still have a chance. Lot has to happen for that to materialize but I'm still holding out for the at large. Get by VCU and Davidson and people will be talking and I think we are on lunardis cusp.

Fordham turned the ball over 27 times and shot 4 for 23 from 3 point line in the first Rams' head butt !!

Wasn't that january 4th? A lot has happened to both teams since then.

I wouldn't completely rule out a good game.

Don't forget, although it was the first full game without Zo, we only beat the red rams 73-71 at the RC. We are better now, but from what I read they are better also.

I agree, if Fordham can cut that to 15 turn overs and go 8 for 23 from 3 point line and you have a close game!! We will see.

Fordham is not a typically terrible Fordham team. I can see them playing VCU tough today, especially if Graham ankle is still gimpy, which it sounds like it is.

Paschall is on a gimpy ankle as well.

I am envisioning Pecora being forced to play Jon Severe and him putting up about 30 today.

VCU - no doubt about it.

1) It gives us a better game and a chance at an at-large if we win.
2) We have already beaten them twice this season and match up well with them.
3) They are struggling, we are catching fire.
4) Even if we don't make the NCAA and they do (which is very, very likely to happen) it would be great to say - we beat them 3 times in one season and return the favor from last year when they did the same to us.

Regardless if we play the Rams or Lambs, we'll be fresh and facing a team with their best player playing on one leg.

Here's to a W tomorrow!
