According to insider trading records, he received roughly $300 million in proceeds from the sale of Paycom stock last year. Does anyone know if being good at basketball is important to him?

Queally is a huge fan of Chris Mooney - spoke with him in January 2015. He seemed incredulous that I even suggested Mooney being bought out... needless to say Chris Mooney has a big time backer.

Queally was an athlete himself and acknowledged that he could have played in college albeit not at the D-1 level

Chris is a great guy and a very good coach. Hopefully he will be at UR for many more years. OSC

I suspect Paul knows what most of us know- that UR can make a deep run in the Dance about once a generation. Making the Sweet 16 is the penultimate achievement for a UR basketball coach.

Disagree. We can do better. The idea expressed in the quote above may have been true in the CAA days, but that era is over. The move up to the A10 means we have the possibility of making the tournament more years than not. Increased trips to the dance means more opportunities for tournament wins. The Robins Center is one of the best arenas in the country and the Program is supported financially. All the pieces are in place for the Program to be serious contenders in the A10 year in and year out. Some argue that UR's tough admission policies are a negative. Sure, it may limit the pool of recruits, but I think it should be used as a recruiting tool. Just look at the job Rocco has done selling the academic reputation of the University. It is possible to win big while offering a world class education.

B, I agree. Moreover, think that the staff and recruits are on board to make this a reality. OSC

B, think you have reality and wishful hoping mixed up. compare our caa to our A-10 actuality and come back and comment once again

Our reality sucks, but whose fault is that? It's not as if we are doomed and never can be better than what we have been the past 10+ years. That's defeatist thinking. I would submit that the problems are internal and on us. Have we really done everything we can do to take our best crack at making the tournament every single year? I think not. But that doesn't mean it's impossible.

In all due respect to Ulla, the 55% win rate, even with the administrations unwavering commitment, over 11 years indicates that the staff and the "system" have deficiencies that need to be addressed. We have entered the world of the virtual mode of "wait to next year"! Let's have some personal responsibility and accountability.

Some of our alums need to realize we no longer aim to be Giant Killers like in the CAA days. We are invested in big boy basketball and expectations should be greater than NCAA every five years. We did not give Mooney a fat contract to raise our academic profile or spend millions on the Robins Center for graduation ceremonies.

100% agree.

The 55% win rate, numbers of conference championships, numbers of bids to NCAA are quantifiable and cannot be dismissed. We are no longer analyzing in short term evaluation. Those criteria should be examined in determining the accountability to which you speak.

Vdu reminds one of a basketball version of Parsons College an outlaw football school some time ago. OSC

SIX YEARS later, we are asking the same question. Earth to Paul, anybody home? What legacy do you want to leave with UR athletics -- that you are a loser and support losing and becoming irrelevant, or that your generous donations actually helped build a winner? Tick tock, Paul.

Let’s be honest, 30-50 years from now Queally’s legacy will be buildings named after him and starting the lacrosse team. Nobody is going to think about how he kept Mooney to long

The Queally Center could just as easily be named Building A if this administration hangs around. I'm losing interest in the whole bunch. Mooney is just the tip.

Maybe I’m missing something, but didn’t PQ simply care about getting lacrosse into UR? I doubt he cares half as much as we do on this board. Certainly more than our AD but I think we consistently overestimate his influence, particularly after the pushback and resignations that happened after soccer was removed in favor of lacrosse.

As mentioned before, Paul is rolling off the board and his involvement has significantly declined. His legacy will be one of the top alumni of all-time who helped the University enhance its national reputation. I don't know what your background is Eight Legger, but I am guessing you should not be calling Paul a loser based on what you have achieved in life.

mooney is Provincetown? Just the Tip. What a great slogan. Got a T shirt up there once.

Maybe instead of the renaming a dorm or Queally center to “Passion Hall”, as advocated by our former beat reporter Noah Goldberg, they will go with Just the Tip.

anyway I suspect Queally is going to be spending a lot more time up at Winged Foot.

You must have been a "regular student." Money shouldn't be the sole definition of success in life.

Agreed, though it’s probably the best way to measure it in this context. Though if somebody made billions off Bitcoin, is that really that impressive? PQ made his money by taking advantage of an innovative product at the time in PE, and likely at least made some companies better. Im thankful for his contributions to the university.

Paul didn’t get his millions by be a nice guy and doing average in his occupation. He stayed ahead of the game and was always three steps ahead of his competition. So my continued not understanding is why he accepts average with our Coaches and results, not to mention our total failure in defeating VCU and JMU?

Are you one of those who thinks you had to play the game at a certain level in order to discuss it intelligently? Yeah, my life has been a complete failure in every way, how dare I express an opinion here. Clearly if I had amounted to anything I would have given $70 million to the university. Since I haven't, I guess I'll just go off myself with a shotgun later today.

the real question is what alumni out there has >$500M net worth and has a son that plays middle or high school basketball?

Huge fans hate losing
Average fans don’t care
Our results suggest he is average or none of the above!
The only time I met him, he seemed to be one of Being HEARD rather than being seen.
Please Paul Q, speak now or forever we will be average!
