Oof. Sorry, but these are god-awful. Are we SURE we actually signed with Nike and not someone moonlighting as Nike? The red ones are the best of the bunch, and it ain't even close. Barf. The home whites are as plain as anything I've ever seen. And an out-of-the-box script font on the road blues? Come on. Are we sending out wedding invites or playing men's basketball here? Very amateurish look to me.

Red jersey is same as before, but looks good -- even though we seem to suck when we wear them.

White jersey looks plain (and cheap).

The red and white striping outline on the blue jersey looks good, but the font used for Richmond looks hideous.

Overall, I would give it a C grade.

Me, though, I really don't care what they wear as long as they win. They could play in their pjs. They could wear Spinner's avatar uniform. Just win.

I'll admit that at first glance, these rags do seem a little retro, but I am not sure retro is not now cool. Like the football helmets, I'll defer to kids. After all, it's what they like that counts.

I have never been one known for my haute couture. Hell, my wife still has to check whether my belt generally matches my shoes, a necessity I wasn't aware until we started dating a few years over three kids ago.

disagree Eight Legger. Classic is way to go imo. Especially classic home white. The red one is my least favorite. I love the Spider logo but it's best stand alone on a hat or helmet not bball jersey.

Reason why retro is popular, so many teams try to get cute with uniforms & colors and you're like wtf. There is reason why teams with the best uniforms change them the least. We should rarely tweak much either. We have good colors and an easily identifiable name, logo & brand. I hope we stick to white and dark blue mainly. What I would reverse is have the white home have the cursive Spiders spelled out and the blue ones say Richmond in non cursive. I've long wanted the cursive Spiders script to come back. btw that is a classic font used by us for a long time. It was on our court that way for a long time. The baseball team uses it predominantly and it looks great. People may no longer know how to write cursive but it provides a clean, classic look and feel. The arena league style is bush. Keep it there or the X games.

Overall I'll definitely take what they've done...nice job UR.

I know this is all just personal preference, but as someone who works with fonts a lot, I just am sort of dumbfounded that this is what someone came up with (and someone approved). It's like kindergarten-level graphic design. I don't even object to script in general, but that one? It's awful.

I would be fine with the baseball script (pictured). My favorite look for our home uniforms are the ones from our Sweet 16 run (pictured). Classic, bold, not cheap looking. Also, it appears that the spider on the red jerseys has been rotated much farther in these new unis than in the past. Odd. Not sure why they did that.

really like our unis to be sharp, not so much maryland football, just sharp. wonder if the coaches allow the players to have imput in the selection, they should if they do not.

Sorry I meant to say that is a classic style used by us for a long time, not classic font. Yes there are some differences from past ones and Spider baseball has long used the S to underline the whole word. Not a font expert but the cursive ones don't look drastically different. Harder to tell b/c new one spells out Richmond and past ones have spelled out Spiders. Again I would have preferred we spelled out Spiders again in cursive but very glad we've at least brought back the classic style into the mix.

Since everyone is weighing in on this topic:

1 - My favorite uniforms were the ones we wore during the Beilein years. White and Blue.
2 - I wish we would take the red uniforms with the Spider, fold them up, and put them back in the Crackerjack box they came out of. Never liked them - we don't win enough when we wear them.

Completely agree with GKiller. I like the classic and the blue. The red seems a little goofy to me. Duke doesn't wear the Blue Devil in the middle of their jersey, it says "Duke." My non-Richmond friends made fun of that red uniform every time we watched a game.
