Opponent Tracker 2022-2023

Watching Davidson/Wright State and realizing it is only 7 minutes into their game and even with out "choppy" 1st half on Mon night, have to think we are the better and "collectively" much more athletic team this year.

Anybody's audio way ahead on the Davidson game compared to the video on ESPN+?

Pretty crazy comeback by the Wildcats down ~21 .. but still contend we will be the better team.

Heading to 2nd overtime .. great game - hope others are watching - go A10.

The audio is off and one of the announcers sounds like he is hocking loogies every couple minutes, but besides that the game has been very entertaining

Drake dominating IUPUI 78-46 …. Love our Valley competition doing well until we squash them

Penn State New Kensington lost to a nearby community college last night and has a 5-hour bus ride to get to tonight's game. Even VMI isn't bad enough to lose this one.

VMI (100–58) and W&M (116–40) cruised over non-DI (non-NCAA of any kind, in fact) opponents, while UMass got punked at home by a decent Towson squad, 67–55.

Watched the 2nd half of the Loyola game. Their team seems not very good. Tons of turnovers. They have looked really evenly matched against their 1st two opponents who are both VMI level teams.

Should have been an A-10 sweep today, but URI and Bona both crapped the bed.

VCU 69, Morgan State 54
SLU 83, Evansville 65
La Salle 77, Wagner 69

Texas State 70, URI 66
Canisius 84, Bona 80 (OT)

2–1 in other games:

Bucknell 68, Niagara 50
St. John's 83, Lafayette 68

Alcorn 66, Wichita 57

Here's the thing about Bona, I feel like any credit they are getting is due to schmidt. I may be wrong, but think they have like 90 percent turnover on the roster. Even in the new portal era , I think you need "program" guys that ate there for 3 , 4 , 5 years. It seems like a complete reboot this season at Bona.

Bona lost 99.5% of their minutes and 99.8% of their scoring from last season. Those aren't typos or exaggerations...their only returning player who saw the floor last year is Ndjock-Tadjore, who played 31 minutes and scored 4 points last year.

Schimdt brought in some decent transfers (Banks from St. Peter's drilled three straight triples in OT as they tried to come back), but they need some time to mesh.

We get to see where VMI stands today…
Yep - may end up being more a read on the Wildcats but VMI was down 14 at the half but battle back to lose only 75-71. Even with their 20 pt comeback versus Wright State, think Davidson is going to be mediocre this year.
