Many of us wondered, myself included, about the circumstances which led Bob Trott to decide to leave UR for JMU as Defensive Coordinator. This following article sheds a lot of light on the subject.

JMU increases football staff salaries
"DukesofJMU.com by the Daily News-Record," Matt Jones | Publisher, 2/29/2016

"Bob Trott, a 61-year-old former Richmond defensive coordinator, received a three-year contract worth $130,000 annually. It’s the most money and first multi-year deal Madison has ever given a football assistant, according to JMU athletic director Jeff Bourne."

umwcah must really be bleeding money because only a handful of fcs teams make a tad or break even and they are not one of them. of course, they think they are going to be in tall cotton when they move to fbs, what a joke.

If JMU wants a wage war it would be no contest. If AD Bourne needs to buy his way to attaining an FCS championship, good luck.Glad that they exceed salaries for some Sunbelt powerhouses.

Figure Bob Trott got a $25,000 bump per year.

Agreed, but I do admire what ODU has done, going from no football at all 10 years ago, and winning 8 games this year and going to a FBS bowl.

odu has a big donor, not sure umwcah does. they can also recruit tidewater without any academic probs, a huge advantage.
