I'm not a Celtics fan, but saw this and wanted to share.
first possession of a preseason game. check out the communication, the switching, the help and recovery by the Celtics. the intensity is real. this is beautiful.
if you think they don't defend in the NBA, you haven't been watching.

Good teams in the NBA defend and the Celtics are a good team. NBA defense is all about rotations and schemes. Cause there are players are each team that it is very difficult to almost impossible to defend 1 v 1. So that is where schemes and scouting reports come into play.

Also - check the teams when the season is between game 40 and 60. See which teams are giving this level of effort - and its likely - they are playoff teams.

Another reason NBA defense has picked up is because there is so much more talent out there now. Unless you are a big time superstar, if you don't play great defense, someone is ready to take your spot. When you have superstars who also give great effort defensively, that's when you have a special team. Brown and Tatum get after it defensively, and that is another reason why the Celtics are so good.
