One more thing about last night's game. There's definitely a clear top 6 Mooney has settled on to play the heavy minutes in these tight games.

Sal, Tyler, Matt and Jake give us solid bench options and were given a handful of minutes last night. But Mooney has decided who he trusts and I think barring foul trouble or injuries we can expect to see these top 6 get nearly all the minutes in most close games going forward.
Yes and no. Yes, Goose is our clear 6th man but I think Sal and Tyler are still going to garner regular rotational minutes. Sal only got 3 minutes last night because he was in foul trouble (a couple of those fouls looked very ticky-tack). Burton did not have his best showing last night.

Both to me have shown the ability to impact the game when they are in, so I suspect both get more minutes in most games than they did last night.

Mooney has really made a point of getting everybody in during the first half of games this year. if it's close in the 2nd, all bets are off.

those rotations do a nice job of keeping Grant fresh later. nobody hurts us out there, but our starting 5 is certainly more offensively capable.

as for Tyler, he finds the ball. 4 boards in only 9 minutes. not sure who to compare him to. he's going to be good. I think the shot will come. seems to be jumping too much towards the hoop from 3.

we're a good shooting team that didn't shoot well. other than missing shots, we didn't play poorly other than a few too many turnovers. defense was pretty sound. rebounding was fine. Grant was tough inside. just some really good shooters missed open looks.
I'll take the win and move on.
Yes, I will take outscoring them 6-3 in the last 3 1/2 minutes...

I tell you one big difference between why we won this year and why we didn't the past 2. Blake Francis. I frankly was disappointed with the performance of both Gilyard and Sherod last night. Thought both played very passive for significant stretches of the game and that bled over to the rest of the team. Both need to look for their shot more in games like this.

Francis on the other hand was his uber aggressive self again and hit a number of big shots throughout the game. You never will have to utter the words, I wish Blake Francis would look for his shot.

Lets hope his fearlessness is contagious

Lol. So every time we win, no one should provide any criticism? Thats funny. We beat an 3-8 team on a last second 3 pointer... lets rejoice!!!

Of course you can. You said: "The team played pretty poorly throughout and IMO it doesn't bode well for the rest of the season. It shows that we can go cold and if we do against a decent team especially on the road we will likely lose." I disagree, but there's no "disagree" button, or "dislike" button. So I said, "dislike". Just like when people agree with a post, they click "like."

I think this game DID bode well for the rest of the season, because we shot like poop, the refs got really whistle-happy against us, and they are a good defensive team, we were on the road, and we still won. I liked it. We wrestled that pig real good.

I agree with this. I feel like we can win when just one of Gilyard, Sherod, or Francis is one. If two are on we'd be tough to beat, and if all three are feelin in i think we can be just about anyone. That said, we did win when none of them played particularly well which i dont think is going to happen often. It was a good road game to win. The crowd was small but got quite loud when they were closing in...
