IMHO, both the player who wrecked David Jones' arm and NDSU should be held responsible for David Jones' injury last year in the playoffs. If you recall, the NDSU player illegally targeted David by launching himself head first at David's arm during the playoffs. The play cost David a bright future in the pros. It is worth a call to an attorney.

I moved this post from the football board.

If the schools and their players were held civilly liable for these types of injuries, the incidence of injury would decrease.

There have been instances when players have been held criminally responsible for action on the field. Why not assign civil responsibility as well?

Coach Rocco was pretty clear that he thought David's arm would not stand up to additional injury. David has all of the physical tools, except for the break in his arm.

The accident that befell David Jones was a fluke and was not even close to targeting. David had his arm positioned at an unusual angle to brace himself and the player who hit him could not stop his momentum which had become irreversible before David started to brace himself. Contact with an attorney for any reason relating to this incident should be for the purpose of enquiring whether you might be liable in a defamation action for making such an outrageous statement.

Get a grip, Stonewall. You usually make sensible statements and make meaningful contributions to this board, but you also say things or render opinions at times that are preposterous.
You must have been heavily over-caffeinated this morning when you made the statements above. Maybe you should try decaff.

Hey ease up on Stonewall! We are all hurting for David Jones who is a person of very strong character and one way or another he will move
on and be very successful in life in whatever he does. He has never put the blame on the opposing player, I agree, it was a fluke! Stonewall
is bleeding a little bit of blue and red during these playoffs with missing players like David.
