NCAA Tournament - Tourney Thread

If we were to beat Iowa, I think Providence is ripe for picking. They were all "jacked up" after getting disrespected by everyone picking the jack rabbits. Let down the next game when we roll into sweet 16 vs Kansas.

I would tout the match up of SPIDERBOWL23 (UR vs SDSU) but the way the Mountain West is showing out today, guessing Creighton wins by 50 against my Aztecs.

Big 10 has 9 teams in:
Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Purdue, Rutgers and Wisconsin

out
Indiana, Iowa and Rutgers

Was hoping San Diego State would win for you. at least it was a hell of a game as a neutral viewer
SDSU got absolutely boatraced last year, then gives a game away this year. Maybe that program isn't all that and a slice of bread.

STFU douche, you come out of the woodwork (no pun intended :)) every 10 years when moon finally gets back to the ncaa. They gave me someone else to follow the last 5 years when your hero was shitting his pants. So go ahead and gloat when you should be celebrating you douche. Yes they have their issues but at least they try every year.
I've been here throughout. No need to get personal.

Glad you've enjoyed SDSU's success. I'm not gloating that SDSU lost, I live on the West Coast, am married to a MWC graduate and want all of the West Coast teams to win.

I like SDSU, and include Brady Hoke among my friends. Rocky Long too. We all played on the same softball team for 5-6 years back in the day, and I saw him when I was at SDSU for a baseball series in 2020.

Fisher handed Dutcher a great program. He's been to the NCAAs three times, and lost the first game every time. Shouldn't you expect more from the head coach?

What years did we "not try?"

I am celebrating our win. Have been for the last seven hours. ;)

The defensive consistency both SDSU football and basketball have displayed year over year is crazy. Now if they could sprinkle in a little more offense it would be nice. When I say didn't try I guess I should alter it to say Mooney had a significant hole (which you know I have pointed out each year) and failed to recruit or just was way behind the times trying to bring in a player. Dutcher shoots for NCAA every year. He brought in Matt Bradley. He has been pretty good but 80 percent FT shooter blew both the MW championship and the Creighton game from the line.
Anyway looks like Mooney is finally coming around to the idea of trying to field an NCAA level team each year evidenced by the Lafayette big He I recruiting. I do think Mooney can do it, he just needs to recruit a little better.

our team (and staff) bust it every year. we had a stretch from about 7-9 years ago with too many recruiting misses that definitely set us back. it's been really good since. and we've won a lot of games the past 3 seasons.

when this season ends, we've got to find another piece or two to keep this train rolling.

Usually when a 15 beats a 2 it also has the crowd behind them, like we did at Cole when we beat Syracuse and almost everybody there was pulling for us. St. Peter's didn't have that advantage last night. With the game in Indy, at least half the place was filled with Kentucky fans.

Of course, everybody else in the country, and the half of Kentucky that hates the Wildcats, was pulling for the Peacocks.

Sorry, my handle is just like the @coachingchanges twitter, there are multiple people with the log in, so I will be sure to talk to the management :). I think that was the guy that likes to change it to RamNation23 sometimes, gotta watch that guy.
Becoming an annual rite for folks to crap on me when SDSU gets bounced, I deserve it. But still would rather go and get bounced than sit home. As much as we whine about Richmond woulda/coulda/shoulda made that tourney that year - I would say that Dayton and SDSU are the biggest losers in college hoops that year. Dayton no. 3 and SDSU no. 6 in final AP poll, I don't remember that ever happening, though sure SF or someone can find something. Both teams had great opportunity for deep deep run, with a great guard.

So…
no 12 seed or lower wins on Friday? Only 3 left?

Big 10 fans angry about the no-call on Grace yesterday got repaid in spades in the last two minutes of the Davidson game. Every single 50-50 call went against the Wildcats, led by a charging foul that was clearly a block and even more evident upon review.
