UR will host the A10 MLAX tourney on May 4/6
I don’t want to be negative, but do we benefit by hosting this , or previous tournaments?
It seems to be an added expense to our athletic budget? I suppose the conference picks up some
of the cost, But, do we as a program benefit?

Getting to play on your home field, sleep in your own beds, and not have to sit on a bus or plane for hours getting there? Definitely an advantage, which is why some of the other SoCon programs weren't happy that we were hosting so often.

And I'm sure the conference picks up most of the costs.

Yikes.Pour me a scotch straight up.
Why do you say that? I‘m talking strictly from a fiscal point of view.
Certainly, I can give you a long list of reasons, and very much certain that
you know that to be true.
I am curious, SF says the conference picks up “most” of the cost. But, in lacrosse,
are we using money that could be used for recruiting; for example?

PS, what’s your Scotch?

I’m disappointed. There is no question that MD has an excellent program,
but we’ve always been able to hold our own, and be respectable.
I have full faith in Chemotti, but today had to be embarrassing to the
entire team.

I couldn't watch the game - thought I had every sports channel except Flosports - but I followed along with the live stats. We actually outshot UMD but as a percentage had many fewer shots on goal. Faceoffs were pretty close, apparently cleared better than UMD and looking at the stats you wouldn't think the final score would be 15-4. Bottom line - just couldn't put the ball in the net and I'm sure the UMD defense had a lot to do with that.
