A couple of weeks ago, some of you were calling our team, 'mediocre'. What say you now?

TBS. they were worse than mediocre through Dec and Jan!! Lol. Playing very well the past 5 weeks. So glad they turned it around !! No one is happier than I am. Looking forward to tonight for Kendall and Chu.

The talent wasn't mediocre, the play was. Now the play isn't mediocre and its great to see. Can't wait for a (hopeful) third shot at RPI

As a Spider fan, how can you not be proud of this team? Through all of the doubt, all of the anger directed towards them and the coach, they have come through it. I believe this is some of Coach Mooney's best work.

TB,
Aren't you the one who posted that Kendall Anthony was the source of our problems and you would be glad to see him graduate?

8legs,

My post above is in response to several posts regarding this team to be 'mediocre', generally considered a negative adjective, not neutral.

Yes, I admit, that I have posted that at times, I thought Kendall too aggressive in trying to take the ball to the basket, instead of dishing the ball off to teammates. CM has made the same comment. And, Kendall has acknowledged it in interviews. And, no, I have not felt that Kendall was the cause of all, of our earlier problems. Indeed, I have usually said in the same posts, that Kendall is the best player on the team.

I do feel that we do better as a team, when we get balanced scoring. For that to happen, we need Kendall to be judicious in how he attacks, and in recent games, we're seeing that.

And, I suspect that my comments concerning Kendall, came after someone posted that he was the only Spider being productive.

And yes if the Goo Moos could win today that would be joy..........................

Spiders 10 wins away from cutting down the nets in Indianapolis!!!!

The season has pretty much proved that for the first half of the season they were, under achieving. They have certainly gotten better, but frankly I don't think they've reached their potential yet.

I was as critical of Mooney and the team through the first 25 games as anyone, and I am as glad as everyone to see them on this late-season run. But those or us who were frustrated earlier were not wrong. The team was mediocre, for many reasons. I give a lot of credit to Mooney and the coaching staff for making some adjustments and to the players for just not getting down about the way things had gone. They have collectively turned the season around, and I hope it continues.

Had we not been mediocre earlier in the season, we would be safely "in" the NCAA tournament now. We're not, so we have to win the A-10 tourney to get there. I hope we can.
