I hate to bring up the past, but Marquis was a one time commitment that was very excited about joining the Spiders, before deciding to become the next Kent Bazemore. Is this the game Spiders fans fear, and Quis lights us up, or will he put up his usual 7 points. Let's Vote!!!!!!!

I know games are relative, but if W & M can beat them, then I don't think will are worst than them. It's going to take a while for all of us to have confidence in our Spiders...."Go Spiders!!!!"

Godwin reminded me of Julius Johnson with a little more height. His main contribution is to be able to knock down a three or two, but lacks the athleticism to be an impact player either in CUSA or the A-10. We all got caught up in missing out on him, but we didn't miss out on anything.

I am thinking of re-applying for my credentials on moontruther.com/application. First I will need to see if this conflicts with my membership at WesMillerNation.com?
No need to apply. Just repeat "Chris Mooney is a good coach" three times. Whenever you feel yourself relapsing, repeat that phrase. The louder you say it, and the more public your venue, the better.

I am not jumping to conclusions here. I am on the Spider bandwagon, but my inclusion on the Moonbeam wagon will examine post season results (not to mention A10 reg season this year) as well as how we follow up and add to this greatest class ever.

Ah, the split personality of a Spider fan. Are you on the Bandwagon or have you fallen off the wagon? The future is bright.

Does your Highlander Nation membership have any impact on all of this?

Let's take small steps. Why don`t you change your signature to Gonzo for Gilly.

And a little elf told me one Sy Chatman may have entered the portal at precisely 4:20 today

12/19 tough day for you bro. But it's also the anniversary of the Spiders winning the football national championship so you'll be ok.

And one more thought, Rhody does have a big bodied high energy big man transfer coming in and eligible from Georgetown - today, to replace Tate. Mooney seems to have picked up the pace the last couple years in doing this - with Francis., but very late to the game in recruiting and transfers the last 6 years most will admit.

Sophomore forward Dana Tate was suspended for Friday’s 75-61 victory over the Friars at the Ryan Center. A URI source said Tate committed an unspecified violation of team rules sometime between Sunday’s loss to West Virginia and the 7 p.m. tip with Providence. URI coach David Cox left open the possibility that Tate’s suspension could run past just the lone game against Providence.

“He was suspended for violation of team rules, and we’ll leave it at that,” Cox said. “I haven’t made up my mind on that yet. We’ll review that actually.”

you mean this guy?

Walker is a transfer from Georgetown who enrolled at URI last year. He was dismissed from the program by the Hoyas in October after an alleged altercation with a fellow student-athlete and was hoping to not have to sit out two full semesters, as per NCAA rules.

yes, he is eligible today, and for Jan. 5th, I can try to sucker him into a technical on Jan. 5th.

Tarrant was not afraid to bring in some talented questionable types. Did not always work out. I understand it can be a risk, but I think a better risk than some of the D2 talent guys we had picked up over the past 6 years (kid from Wisconsin, friend Schneider, etc)

Name one player that Dick brought in as a transfer that was a "questionable type" i.e. forced out of his previous school for "an alleged alteraction" at his previous school.

Milton Bell doesn't count. he wasn't a "questionable type".

I have never said our recruiting has been perfect, but I like the streak we're on right now.

The fact of the matter, is that your Exhibits A, B and C about "Mooney lost him" have been Chatman, Tate and Godwin.

Transfer Portal, Suspended and Transfer Portal.

Just two seconds off the top of my head I can count questionable - kid from Pitt, and Milton Bell - he does count - one of my roomates was in class with him he was not an academic fit for college.

would you like me to bring up your "Mooney missed on Chatman" posts or should in the spirit of being 10-1 and Christmas week, let it go?
Chatman looks to have had some personal issues and wants a fresh start. Not sure what they are, and don’t feel it’s fair to speculate as it could be one of a multitude of things.

Of his departure, the local paper states “what will be missing is an athletic forward who was a major aid for UMass on the glass”.

While we have been better this year on the glass, I would still take another athletic forward who is a major aid on the glass.

Still waiting on the rebuttal as to why Mooney could not complete a roster with depth the last several years and could not follow up on the great RVA S16 and Final4 year like VCU did?

You are the one who keeps living in the past. I only care about the future. If you read my post, I said recruiting has not been perfect but what happened in 2013, etc. no longer matters to me, although I know some of you enjoy discussing.

Just admit defeat. the fact of the matter is we were talking about transfers and you said "Tarrant was not afraid to bring in some talented questionable types."

I had ask you name one. You couldn't. Milton Bell seemed like a nice guy, not someone who "allegedly assaulted" a fellow student.

Chad Varga was not a transfer, was not a bad guy, was a model behavior when he was here. He just had a bad foot and then bolted. Big difference.

Let's just say as usual, I know a little more than you. this post is in the past, as soon as I post reply, but you will comment on it. Seems hypocritical.

Yes, I am afraid that after the success of this year and next (hopeful!), Mooney could resort to the "past" and cash checks, so that is why it may be good to monitor, even though we know "we" can't do anything about it - but that is the case on all the speculation and discussion on this board is it not??? :)

Nathan, I am with you, lack of athleticism was a major problem on the TJ senior led team, we need players, but players that are high level athletes too in order to compete and be another VCU or Wichita - which is my goal. Athleticism much better on this team with Francis, Burton and Gus playing major roles.
