its awful hard not to be extremely frustrated and upset with the way we gave the game to Yale last night...I sure was... but upon further consideration this AM I still think we are still improving...

The offense has come a long way since rock bottom at Fordham...Mancuso has solidified himself as the QB to take the team to the house over the remainder of the schedule...he has gotten better since BC and Elon...as has our offense...

the Mancuso led balanced attack rolled up 464 total yards versus a pretty good FCS team last night...

if Mancuso can take the next step, becoming more accurate, and making the team more effective in the red zone we have a chance to battle and give our upcoming CAA opponents fits...

few programs are able to rebuild on a straight line back to Championships...hopefully this was just a pot hole on the way back...

keep working...Go Spiders!

Yeah at this rate we may be competitive in mid. Feb. of course the players graduate /leave and we start all over. You can’t put enough lip stick on this pig.

yes he did seem to play better but He isn’t the only problem. There is a big gap between being positive and pollyanna

I like Mancuso, more positives than negatives. Having said that, I would like to see the Walker kid. I keep hearing that he's really good so I'm surprised with the new "4 games and you can still redshirt rule", that we haven't seen an appearance. For all intents and purposes we now have zero chance to make the playoffs, so we might as well see what the young man can do.

I’d hope Walker is being held and plays the last 4 games. Joe M is a better option than Beau E but he left a lot of points out there. There were at least 3 plays we had WRs at least 5 yards beyond the D that would have been easy TDs with a decent pass. If we hit even 1 of those we win.

We need a running game. Right now our quarterback is relied upon for everything. (Note: Better play calling wouldn't hurt either)
understand where you're coming from...against the best teams in the CAA your QB can't take the pounding they'll get as your most frequent runner...we finally got some yardage from Dykes

regarding the play calling, say what you will about the departed Rocco, but he was always able to bring in highly qualified and experienced offensive co-ordinators and position coaches...

Go Spiders!

At this point keep him for no more than 4 games -- why waste a full season at this point. If he's as good as advertised we will be very happy we did

The players are improving. The play calling has not. Look at how the drives stalled. 3 drives should've been TDs. There is a reason JMU changed course with play calling responsibilities.

The very first offensive play of the game is indicative of just how bad the play calling is. You run your wide receiver across the backfield, hand the ball off to him, and ask him to make a play downfield as a passer. That is a play that has to be set up to be effective.

Additionally, I think we have to recruit some beef into our stable of running backs...especially if we insist they run between the tackles at the frequency we have shown this far. We owe an apology to Aaron Corp.

Need a big back, no doubt. Better play calling would help and must have goal line plays with qb under center and a blocking back.

Russ said on Black and Drew that they intentionally go conservative when we have a lead in the second half and that a punt is not the worst thing. I hate this philosophy. You cant start milking a lead in the 3rd quarter. When you have the lead you have to step on the opponents throat.

We need a more accurate QB.
Joe M is inconsistent but he has times where he is zipping the ball well and then it is like
he never practiced with the receiver before. I think he needs to spread ball around to more
receivers then he is.

I thought we did better in this game at trying to add to the lead. That drive we came up empty after getting inside the 10 was brutal. I didn't record the game so I don't know how legit the personal foul call was, but the official who made it was on the opposite sideline from the play. I also can't remember if that was the same drive we dropped the touchdown pass.

Did not hear the comment, but the fans in Robins Stadium saw what was happening, exactly as Coach Huesman described in your post. A punt is OK if you can rely on the defensive scheme and its execution. We had a decent pass defense all night until Yale’s last 2 possessions when the scheme changed.

The biggest improvement is that we got some production from the RB position for the first time in several weeks. We cannot win consistently if we are going to rely on our QB's to be the primary ball carriers. I'm not sure if we ran because it was Yale or if it was because we improved. We will find out in the weeks to come.

He has a good arm but he seems to launch missiles when he should be lobbing bombs. Get some air under those deep throws and let the receiver run under it.
