Not to go crazy just because of a loss, but this has been years too long. I would love to see if there is any argument possible out there for NOT removing Dave Legg as special teams coordinator. Good recruiter, so keep him, but someone else has to be able to run special teams. Its been a weakness since week 1 and was bad even in the London years. Seriously. This has to end

Sadly I think you are right. When we don't go to tourney with Mooney we still go like 20-10. Watching Legg feels like going 0-30, but point taken

Would love to have it made a priority but when playing starters on ST, makes it difficult, particularly in games like tonight where your D guys are getting run ragged. Also, our punter seems to run hot and cold, and when he does boom one it's beyond our coverage and we don't change field position to our advantage or give up a TD like tonight. Have to agree, though, that ST is the one area we are barely good at, and that's only because of our kickers.

We don't have to burn starters and be a top-10 special teams team, we just need to be a not bottom-10 special teams team.

Would hope Rocco would acknowledge how bad we are on ST coverage. But considering we're no better in that area in his 4 seasons here, doubt anything will change in 2016.

Legg must let go or be re-assigned. Most consistent part of UR is the special teams-consistently bad. Loyalty is a great trait, blind loyalty is a character flaw. Cannot continue with Legg in fairness to players, fans or program. DR has got to man up!

Watching the run backs-I couldn't help but think that NDSU must have watched the Maryland
Game tapes. Pretty bad coverage- along with the refs allowing hits in the back-it just made you wonder
do we even coach these special teams. Jeezz

Mooney is a head coach, Legg is an assistant. It's a whole lot easier to replace an assistant, it happens almost every year. I believe 3 punt returns for touchdowns against us, a bunch more went for 30+ yards. We had ONE punt return all year for more than 12 yards, and maybe a couple of kickoff returns 30 to 40 yards. No punts blocked, bad kickoff coverage. There's no reason not to try something (or someone) different.
