I really enjoyed his comment that the staff has now been focused on MVFC film, and they have learned much from watching how the teams attack one another. It's great we played a MVFC team last night, it's likely an extra week of film study and prep work. KUDOS to the staff. They put the guys in place where they could make the plays

I am so very happy that Rocco is a Spider!!!! I dont believe he could have done a better job this year. Not a perfect year but WELL DONE

DR has done a great job of finally getting us back where we all want to be, which includes excellent recruiting, building up our numbers/depth and winning. having said that the Jacobi deal just shows that you miss sometimes. from what we have witnessed the last half of the season, Jacobi appears to be a feature back a three down back who without an injury to Seth, we would never have known and he would have departed here as just an average running back. amazing that it took an injury for him to emerge as an all-conf, all-american type of player.

Kudos indeed! Hell of a run so far, and we're not done yet. Nice to be back in the national conversation.

And we are doing it with the right kind of kids. Just watch there actions and listen to them talk, they are representing spider nation extremely well.

Big props to whole coaching staff, plus academic advisors, AD staff, etc, in working through a tough exam week, coming up with the right schedule, and getting our team to IL earlier than on a normal road trip. Think it was huge not to have the potential stress of travel issues and time to settle in out there a day early. The good news is that school work should be done by middle of next week and team will be able to focus 100% on beating our next opponent. Would be gravy to not have to travel.

So happy for Coach Rocco and his staff. He has now done exactly what he came to do at Richmond. That is compete at the highest level of FCS football and contend for a a National Championship. He wants to be the best and came to us from Liberty because he knew based on 2008 what our program was capable of doing.

Let's not forget Seth was a pre-season All American. How bad a miss was it really?

not a knock on Seth at all, he is great and we are going to need him but not sure we are where we are today if not for Jacobi emerging as he has.

Can't argue with that. Great to have options. Good job by those recruiting to get us the high quality options we have playing for us.

Fisher has done an outstanding job calling plays all season. Thought we strayed from the run too early in the UNH game and forced the long ball when it was not necessary, but he must have seen something. He does a great job adjusting to whatever our opponent is giving us and has a knack for calling the right play at just the right time. Trott deserves more credit than he is often given here too.

The NDSU fans are a confident bunch as well they should be with 4 straight championships, but if they believe they can hold us to 14 points they are delusional.

Agree, KE. Our O just has too many weapons and are clicking on all cylinders, so see us getting plenty of points and going for the throat early to take the crowd out of it.

I have been skeptical and critical of this staff, and I couldn't be more happy to be wrong. They have done an outstanding job with this team. I expect some of them will get opportunities in the offseason, and they have earned them. But I hope a lot of them stay because I think we have a chance to build upon this year. It feels like we are back in that 2007 timeframe where the future seems so very bright.

Not that I'm looking ahead. Still looking forward to 2 more games this year first!!!

NDSU looked like a physical team, but not very fast against UNI. Did anyone else notice that? If I'm right, it should be a good match up for Richmond. We are physical up front but have speed on the outside with Diggs, Brown, and company. I understand the venue will be tough, but I realky like our chances. Is it Friday yet?

I think this may be another game we let KL loose to throw it. Seems like it will be another pass to set up the run game like ISU. Jacobi ran well, but he didn't really get loose until we had established the pass. As Spider B said, they seem big and a little slower, so I think we take our fair chances with Brown and Diggs and Wilkins early

Bisons...big but not so fast...could be a little like Montana?

Coach Rocco has liked this team all season long, just like he likes what he has called "November football" that wins Championships...a defense that shuts down the run and an offense that is able to run the ball and control the clock...

Congrats to him and the coaching staff for having the team playing its best at the most important time of the season...a typical attribute of a great coaches...

I like our chances too...

Go Spiders!

I am confident about this team because they have taken on the personality of their leader; Coach Rocco. They give a consistent performance game after game. They are are a disciplined group who take care of business. The last three games have been perfect examples of one of Coach Rocco's favorite words: physicality. Discipline and physical play travel well and we will need both this weekend. Throw in our speed on both offense and defense and you can see that this is a special group.
