Thought Khwan deserved his own thread. Khwan has really stepped up his game, looks a lot more confident and comfortable out there. Keep it up Khwan
if the coach for GW had any brains, he would have fouled Fore right away. he should be fired for that. Great dunk though. lets see, hes a 45% ft shooter and the coach doesnt foul him. nice scoutingI loved that confident dunk near the end of the game too to put an exclamation on the game. Hit a lot of free throws as well.
I do not believe that 45% free throw % is really an accurate number for so few attempts this season. GW did foul him three times and he went 5-6... his shot actually looked better than everyone on the team besides TA & SJ...looked nothing like a 45% shooter.if the coach for GW had any brains, he would have fouled Fore right away. he should be fired for that. TA is so solid! the white guy gets so nervous at the foul line. he cost them the game against vcu and almost cost them last nightI do not believe that 45% free throw % is really an accurate number for so few attempts this season. Yea tj looked bad at the line. Johnny miller would say he choked birdie machine.TA is so solid! the white guy gets so nervous at the foul line. he cost them the game against vcu and almost cost them last night
With his 44.5" two step vertical, Khwan is amazing. However, as I recall Kevin Anderson was also a superb athlete with a 42" vertical! OSCFore is the next in a long history of truly excellent point guards under Mooney. What separates him from the other great point guards we have had is his athleticism. I think he is going to show up on sportscenter quite a few times over his career at Richmond.

I agree, he was 3 for 10 earlier in the season, mainly nerves and lack of playing time. He has a nice shot and release unlike some of our 4 year Masonry Majors. He will be fine with more attempts and playing time.45% this season... 87% the last season that he was on a court before this...
Yes, it is a consideration. That's why you shoot more free throws after practice than before and during practice. I recall a thread where someone suggested volunteering to teach free throw shooting. I would gladly do that. I shot 94% from the stripe my senior year and 89% for my career. I made 72 straight at one time. Why? It was a priority for our coach. I shot 100 before classes started, 100 before practice started and 100 after practice in sets of 10 with 2 laps of the court in between. Can hear coach Thompson now saying "get it over the rim or it has no chance." If free throw shooting isn't part of the culture it won't happen. TJ, Trey and Deion have horrible mechanics. It's a wonder any of them go in. Good free threw shooting will add 3 or 4 wins that would otherwise be losses.TJ battled his butt off against Larson and Cavanauh on defense all night and played 43 minutes. Did you ever think fatigue might be a factor in the free throws.
Can't agree more with this. Teach'em Whamp!!Yes, it is a consideration. That's why you shoot more free throws after practice than before and during practice. Loved SDJ talking about him after the game. Most athletic and so quick. He also
showed shooting ability last night.
I would if not that he was in the same position against vcu and did the same thing plus his second barely reached the basket. I was joking but please dont say he can be counted on to make a ft in crunch time.TJ battled his butt off against Larson and Cavanauh on defense all night and played 43 minutes. I assume we are talking about the really selfish SDJ who only cares if he gets to take his own shot. That SDJ?
I agree that SDJ has taken more ill-advised, selfish shots in his career than most players. But to say that overall he is a selfish player is flat out dumb. He has matured so much since his freshman year. He is a great leader and an even better player.I assume we are talking about the really selfish SDJ who only cares if he gets to take his own shot. Yeah, I don't see that.Shawndre selfish????? Are you kidding? OSC
86% or 87% in high school. Moreover, Khwan can shoot. OSCHigh School...80% ft...(did not confirm).....
Same hands, eyes and ft line!
Exactly, anyone that has watched this team realizes there are only 3 starters and 1 sub (until last night) that can score at all. If SDJ, TJ and TA aren't a bit selfish, we are screwed worse than we are already. It's 3 on 5 out there every night, if SDJ sees an opening he has to take it.Shawndre selfish????? Are you kidding? Agree that his play was deserving.I was really hoping Khwan would win A10 rookie of the week this week (14.7 points and 5 rebounds per game, shooting 64% from the field), but it went to a Fordham player instead.
