Jacobi Up for Dudley Award

Hope Jacobi has his acceptance speech prepared. JG deserves it. Great season. Keep those legs churning.

Vad Lee will get it cause he was so strong in the first 8 games and beat SMU on his own. Jacobi
deserves cause he was consistent and got stronger and stronger against very good competition. I am pulling
for Jacobi but Lee is the media sweetheart.

Talked to Jacobi at halftime at UNI BBall game.So humble and unassuming. When you applaud him for all his accomplishments this season he only smiles and gives credit to his teammates and coaches. If Jacobi doesn't win the Dudley award the fix is in.

The fix has been in. They will probably find a way to give it to a Tech player even though they aren't a finalist.

Lee will win, the CAA proved that with their player of the year (half year)

I have never seen a team get so much mileage out of beating a terrible FBS team (SMU). How the Dukes got a higher playoff seed than us even after we won in Barneyville was a joke. Doesn't matter now obviously, as the results have spoken for themselves.

Sadly, media will rubberstamp CAA POY, thinking how can POY not win Dudley when all candidates are CAA. To vote otherwise would require use of knowledge, disregard of preseason hype, and ability to vote on full season's body of work.

SMU went 2-10 only Beating two of the worst FBS teams in the nation. But that JMU win propels Mr. Lee to the Dudley? Weren't we leading when he got injured? Jacobi lead the league in rushing, and TDs. Come on.

Agree. Losing Lee didn't make their D give up 300 yards a game on the ground over the last 5 weeks of the season.

Lee probably would have been a no brainer for this award had he played even 2 more games. But he didn't.

CAA awards are voted on by the coaches, Dudley by the media. I think Green has a very good chance.

Although the timing of these awards isn't great and just adds to the distractions this week, which is already a short week and is exam week.

We may have a leading indicator-

Headlining the Touchdown Club of Richmond's end-of-the-year college football awards, UR swept the offensive portion. Richmond's Jacobi Green was named offensive back of the year, while teammates Brian Brown and Nick Ritcher garnered the wide receiver and offensive lineman of the year honors, respectively.

The team will be gone to ISU before the dinner happens. I'm not sure if there's other, related pomp and circumstance but I don't think it's much of a distraction.

It's a good evening, but that is the primary event. A dinner and announcement, opportunity to meet some of the kids nominated and various coaches. I've been a couple of times and was seated with two players and coaches from different schools, it made for interesting conversations.
